First, what is Islam?

Islam is the second largest religion in the world after Christianity. Muslims come from different parts of the world, have diverse cultural practices, and come from many ethic and cultural groups.

Okay, okay, I will tell you how Muslims pray.

We pray to one God Allah, the same as if you were to pray to God. We pray kneeling and motion our hands up and down.

Now that's different, but I like it!

Haha, Now i'm going to talk to you about our Prophet Muhammad. Muhammad is very similar to Jesus. He ascended into Heaven and only believed in one God.

Next, we have the Five Pillars of Islam. They are obligations that every Muslim must satisfy in order to live a good and responsible life according to Islam. The Five Pillars include Profession of Faith (shahada), prayer (salat), Alms (zakat), fasting (sawm), pilgrimage (hajj).

Okay, let's talk about Islamic festivals! There are many Islamic festivals, but i'll name a few including Ramadan, Eid al-Adha, and the Prophets birthday.

One that you might be familiar with is Ramadan, it is celebrated by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.

We have some important terms that need to be covered, we already talked about what Islam is, but there are other things to it including Imam, Jihad, Hajj, and what is a Muslim.

Last but not least, there are sectors of Islam. After our Prophet Muhammad died, some Muslims split into groups.

Aw man.

There is the Shi’ite which are Muslims who believe that leadership of the Muslim Community should be passed down through the direct descendants of the Prophet. And we have the Sunni who are Muslims who believe that community leaders do not have to be descended from the Prophet.
