This book is dedicated to my school, my family and my friends

Like I told you in my last story, I used to walk home with my mother after the swimming class. We walked because my home and school were near, and also, I liked walking with my Mom. It was fun.

After me and my friends come out of class, we would race to a park near the pool. It had a set of swings, a climbing wall, some slides and a rope bridge that connects two slides. If you step on a hole in the rope bridge, you will lose your balance. So we tried to stay out of it.

My favorite thing in the whole park is ‘The Big Slide’. Before we get on to ‘The Big Slide’, we would pluck off a leaf from the nearest plant as tickets to give to the person on top of ‘The Big Slide’s’ ladder. We took turns being the ticket collector. If only that person gets your leaf, you can pass. 

While playing, I would look at the main gate to see if my mother is coming. When I see her, I would run up to her and she would hug me.

I then ask her “Can I play a little bit longer, Mom?” If she is in a hurry, she would say ‘no’. If she’s not, she would agree happily. On most days, she was not and I would play a bit longer.

While walking, we stopped near the main gate to pick some sunflowers for my Gran. We also pick a strand of banana leaf for the bouquet as a bow.
