Chapter one:Medlock manor

When Mary's parents died in Ireland Mary was sent to live with her uncle,Mr Craven in England.Mary had to sit in a gloomy,gray carriage with Mrs.Susan who looked as old as a grandma."How long before we get there Mrs.Susan"asked Mary "We'll get there when we get there"she Replied.After a while they came to a dark and gloomy area there she saw a house."Welcome to medlock manor your new home""How do you like it"asked Mrs Susan

"I hate it it's dark and gloomy"Mary confessed.

"What a sour,ungrateful girl"she thought.

Mrs .Susan carefully explained what was behind each door.She stopped at an odd looking door an walked past it without saying a word and led mary to her room."Your to confine your self to this room and don't expect Mr Craven to bother with you he's leaving on a trip tomorrow.As she slammed the door Mary shouted"suits me,people never like me and I never like people".Mary stood in the center of the room thinking why things would be any different here.In the other part of the house Mr craven was packing his bags he said to himself the sooner I'm out of here the better I'll feel.

The next morning Mary heard a noise which sounded like firework going BANG!."Who dare make this noise"she uttered.Suddenly she heared a voice replied "No good telling of the fire"she saw a woman standing there with a tray of food."Are you my maid?"asked Mary.the woman nodded her head "My name is Martha."Now hurry up eat your food"Mary gobbled the food in no time.Then Martha inquired "Do you wanna hear about my brother and how he talks to animals".Martha told Mary how her brother morty had a pet fox called rider.

Martha bought some clothes

"Don't you dress me "asked Mary

"Here you have to take care of yourself ,here...".But these are my outdoor clothes"replied mary.Martha told her that she can go outside and play on the grounds."anywhere?" asked mary.Martha nodded but warned her not to go to Mr craven's secret garden as the key was buried.Mary decided her new mission was to find Mr Craven garden

Time to explore thought Mary.Things looked very different from India.The trees in the orchard seemed to keep each other company.Mary thought to her self that maybe if she was like Morty then she would have more friends.Suddenly Mary bumped into a tall wall."That must be uncle's garden"she thought.She walked around the garden where she found an old man that was raking all the dry leaves."Are you the gardener?"asked mary

"Hi you must be the girl from India"he said.Mary nodded her head "I need to go bye"she replied.

Chapter two :A way in...

As the days passed,Mary continued to explore.Martha gave her a skipping rope.The fresh air and exercise did her good.Soon she had an appetite.She watched and talked to robin and Ben the gardener.As she spent more time outside,Mary became a cheerful and content.Yet how she wished she could enter that hidden garden!

One morning Robin was flying unusually fast "Wait for me I don't have wings!"shouted Mary.Robin sat on a dry looking tree which was behind a wall.And this wall was the wall that protected mr cravens garden.Mary started looking for the door of his garden

That night Mary couldn't sleep a wink she couldn't stop thinking about the garden. Mary got up extra early that day but she was informed by matha that she wouldn't be able to play because of the rain.Mary who was now very upset gave a frown to Martha."Cheer up it won't rain for ever"stated martha. Mary complained that she heared crying from one of the near by rooms.Martha smiled and told her that it was just the cleaner crying cause of a toe ache.Later that day Mary decided it was time to explore the house "boo hoo!"there was the crying again. Mary heard foot steps So mary quickly ran to her room and acted like she was reading a book

"Good I'm glad you didn't leave your room"stated martha while tucking her into bed.The next morning mary as walking in the grounds still trying to find the door.Suddenly robin flew down and and started pecking something odd it was gold in color Mary decided to take out it was a key.Ben was coming towards them so mary started to run around looking for the door .suddenly mary saw some vines covering a green looking part of the wall .when Mary came closer she relised it was a door.Mary took the and slid it into the door nob.To her surprise the door opened .She took a deep breathe and slowly stepped inside the garden.

chapter three:In the garden

Time seemed to stand still as Mary found every plant dry and dead.she tried to do what ben did but she couldn't .She knew there was one person who could help and it was morty.So after a while of pluck dry weeds she decided to go ask Martha to send a letter asking morty to come to medlock manor.

Mary suddenly heard someone calling her name it was miss susan."Mary lunch is ready!"shouted miss susan.Mary who was starting to dislike her but she had to act nice.Martha was happy to see Mary happy and amused.that's when Mary asked her to write a leeter to morty and it went like this.

Dear morty

please come to medlock manor and wait for a girl with blonde hair in the garden-p.s bring garden supplies.
