This book is mostly for girls so they can be inspired when other people don't let girls have rights to follow their dream or goal and to believe that they can reach it. So that is why the book is called Girl Power and an example of this is a life about a girl that experienced that.
Year 3 Children of Kenmore Park Junior School

Ooh there is a football tournament on Thursday!

In London all the way in harrow there was a little school called Kenmore Park Junior School and a nine year old girl called Olivia was one of the students who went there. She lived right around the corner and she had a baby sister who went to the Nursery School. Olivia had always wanted to reach her Goals which were playing the piano, singing, writing poems, writing fictitious stories and playing sports and she eventually reached all her goals except one of them. The trickiest of them all, playing sports, because her favorite sport was football and she tried to play it but she wasn't good enough and she didn't have a team to join in. But one day going to school there was a poster that said there was a Football tournament on Thursday and that there will be Football Try Outs on Tuesdays.

You can't play because you don't have an awesome team like me and some brilliant shirts like these.

Well, don't worry because I'll get a perfect team even better than yours and also shirts prettier than yours.

Olivia waited as the days passed so slowly and then it was finally Thursday, so Olivia jumped with Joy and went to the try outs very excited but nervous. When it was lunch a teacher went around the school telling everyone to go to the try outs if they wanted to go, so Olivia ran as fast as she could not even looking who was going and then she got there. When she looked in the hall there were many boys and she barely saw any girl so she took some steps back and bumped into a girl and she said "Phew at least there is another girl" and the girl was called Nella so she said she also felt nervous and luckily she found Olivia. So then the try outs started and Olivia's first shot to the goal was very good and it hit inside the goal and then Naomi had a shot too and the football also went in the goal so then after all the boys had a go finally the coach said he will tell the results the next day. But what Olivia didn't realize was that there where more people going after and including her friends...

It was finally Wednesday and Olivia was in her lessons with her team mates and then all of a sudden the coach went in the class and said that the girls and boys who went in their class have to bring their Pe kit on Thursday and that at lunch time they have to go to the hall and change into their clothes. Olivia was very surprised and very excited but then she heard her friends saying YAY and she asked them why they were excited so they answered her that they were coming too but they went after the try outs Olivia went to. Olivia's smile widened even more and they started cheering outside the classroom but then when they went inside the teacher said since they where vert good they could color in an activity sheet. Olivia's friends where called Naomi,Katy,Felicity and Mary and they where all going to be a team and also Nella was going to be in the same team as them. How excitement they all had!

It was finally Thursday and the girls where so excited they couldn't stop thinking about it all day. When it was break time all they talked about the football tournament and then about the shirts they where going to put on, but they didn't practice! So when they went back to class they learned about People Talking To Much But Not Too Much Action but the girls didn't pay attention because thy were too busy thinking about the tournament and they kept on looking at the time to see if it was lunch time. When it was Lunch time the girls rushed through the crowd of people and they were the first ones in the hall changed and ready to go so when the coach got there he was surprised how much they liked playing football. After everyone got in the hall , got changed and ready to go the coach announced that the girls will be against the boys so they have to practice but the girls forgot to at break time so they got nervous and a bit scared.
