A Guide for Inexperienced Fliers

Rosalie has never flown on an airplane before. Her mom bought two tickets, one for herself and one for Rosalie.

Rosalie wonders, "What happens

after we buy our tickets?"

First, we have to pack our suitcases. We will pack everything we will need for the duration of our trip.

Second, we will check into our flight 24 hours before we leave.

Third, we leave early to arrive at the airport one hour before our flight takes off.

Rosalie's mom explains, "When we arrive to the airport, we have to check in. This is when they will take our suitcases. Sometimes, we have to wait a long time before we get to go on the airplane."

This is where we will put our remaining items including bags, metal, shoes and jackets into a bin. Our bins will go through a detector and so will we!

After we check in, we have to go through a security check for our safety.

Once we go through security, we can relax and have a snack.

Where are you from?

Now we have to find our terminal. Our terminal is the area where we will wait to board the plane.

Once we get on the plane we find our seats.
