The Kingdom That Couldn't Read
BY:
Megan Beevers & E.Ann Sica
Once upon a time, there was an emperor named Theodore. He loved to go on adventures by reading stories and sharing them with his kingdom.

One day he woke up and no one in the kingdom was able to read. He found a room full of books and didn't know what they were. They looked important but he didn't know what to do with them.

" I wonder what these things are?"

Theodore decided to go for a walk to clear his head and think about what to do. On his walk, he stumbled upon a cave.

"I think that's a cave over there."

Inside the cave, there were pictures on the walls of a woman laughing and crying holding those things that he had found. There was also a picture of how a spell was cast over the kingdom which made people forget how to read.
"I think I have to find that woman if I want to know what happened."

Emperor Theodore was also a creative inventor and realized in order to contact the mysterious, old, wise woman, he had to travel back in time. He worked day and night creating a time machine so he could meet her.

When he was finished, he set the time machine back 200 years, and traveled through space and time to find out about the stories so he could share them with his kingdom.
As Theodore arrived in the past, he noticed the same woods where he found the cave.

"Maybe I can find the old wise woman in the cave."

The old wise woman was in the cave. Theodore began to explain how he found some stuff and didn't know what to do which led him to discover the cave where he saw the paintings of her.

Ah-ha, I have found you!
I've been waiting for you to break the spell! I am a teacher and have adventurous stories that you must share with your kingdom.
