In Miss Anna's class, we take care of our bodies.

We make safe choices, eat nutritious foods, exercise, practice good hygiene, and prevent germs from spreading.

In Miss Anna's class, we follow safety rules to prevent injuries. 

In the classroom we:

Use walking feet to avoid tripping and falling.

Use indoor voices to hear our friends and teacher if an emergency happens.

Practice safety drills such as fire drills and lockdowns to prepare for emergencies.

Use the playground equipment safely and appropriately to prevent injuries.

In Miss Anna's class, we practice great hygiene by washing our hands:

Before and after eating

After coughing, sneezing, or using a tissue

After touching animals

After using the potty

After coming in from outside

In Miss Anna's class, we prevent germs from spreading.

We want to keep ourselves and our friends healthy. Germs carry diseases and viruses that make us sick. 

To prevent the spread of germs we:

Cover our nose and mouth when we cough or sneeze (Groark & Song, 2012)

Keep hands away from eyes, nose, and mouth

Have up-to-date vaccinations

"Vaccinations are an important part of preventing illness and disease in young children" (Groark & Song, 2012).

In Miss Anna's class, we fuel our bodies with nutritious foods like: 

Fruits                    Low Fat Milk

Vegetables            Water        

Whole Grains        Proper Portion Sizes
