Hi, Welcome to the Parakeet
Handbook! Now I know how boring
quarantine is, so some of you have
probably gotten a pet! I understand
that parakeets aren't the most
popular pet ever, but once you've
earned their trust its really fun to
play with them and take care of them!
So because taking care of a parakeet
( Or any pet in general ) is a little hard,
I'm here to talk you through it! Are you
READY?

And here
is my proof
Im qualified
to teach you about
parakeets
MY 2 PARAKEETS
=============>

STEP 1: If you already have a parakeet then you know
that a employee will get the parakeet out of its clear box (where it is kept until someone buys it) and put your chosen parakeet in a small carrier cardboard box. Yeah, its a little traumatic for the bird, but trust me the employee knows what he/she is doing. But once your parakeet gets home it will be fine; but this doesn't mean that your parakeet won't be scared, it will be very observant of what its new home looks like, smells like, and sounds like. So don't be nervous if your bird looks scared its just a little nerve racking going from the place its always stayed at, to a new environment.

STEP 2: Once your parakeet trust you, you can start teaching them to get on your finger, eat out of you hands, or even teaching them to talk! Its best you let your parakeet out of his/her cage each day, since these birds usually get to fly outside all the time, its good that you let them spread their wings.

STEP 3: The Cage. Yes I know it might seem mean to put you parakeet in a cage but, thats where they live. You want to have a decent sized cage. This is very important to have the right cage. If the cage is to small your bird will just be crammed leading to screaming, biting, and more bad behavior. Just like humans a bird cage can never be too big. The size of a cage depends on how many parakeets you have. When at night you will probably want to cover the cage with a towel or blanket. This helps your bird go to bed so they have a nice dark place to sleep at night.

STEP 4: Cleaning your birds cage. If there are feather on the sides of the cage, you can take an old tooth brush and swipe it along the side to clean it off fast and easy!
