I remember the day I decided what I wanted to be. It was the first week of 1st grade.
Mrs. Thomas had asked us a very hard question.

What do you want to
be when you grow up?

Maddison raised her hand and said, "I want to be a ballerina!"

"I want to be a superhero who saves
lives and fights bad guys!" said Lucy
cheerfully.

"I want to be a doctor!" shouted my best friend Jacob. "I want to
help people who are sick."

I had no idea what I wanted to do. How could I know? I've never even thought about it!

I remember going to recess, thinking about everything I like to do. I like to play with my dogs and running. I also like hanging out with my friends.

When I got home, I got really sad. "Why does everyone else know what they want to be!" I exclaimed. I decided to distract myself by playing with my dogs.

That night, I fell asleep thinking of who I wanted to be when I grew up.
