Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Karoline. Karoline was three years old. She lived with her mommy, her daddy, and her dog Anna.

Karoline loved playing with her mommy and her daddy. They had so much fun together! They played with toys, they played outside, and sometimes her mommy and daddy would even take her swimming!

One day, Karoline’s mommy told her that she was getting a baby brother. “What is a baby brother?” Karoline asked. Her mommy replied “a baby brother is someone who will become your very best friend! He is someone you will love and he will love you right back. He will be someone you play with, laugh with, and have so much fun with!”

Karoline went to bed that night thinking about this new baby brother she would be getting. Would he be here tomorrow? Would he know how to talk like she did? She had so many questions to ask her mommy in the morning.

When the morning came, Karoline asked her mommy “is my new baby brother here yet?” Mommy replied, “no, not yet. Your baby brother is still in my tummy! He won’t be here for a few more months, right after Christmas!” Karoline thought to herself, “how long is a month?”.

The months passed by and Karoline noticed that her mommy’s tummy was getting bigger and bigger. It looked like a basketball! Karoline was so excited to meet her baby brother and wished he was here already.

Before Karoline knew it, it was Christmas! Karoline loved Christmas. Her, her mommy, and her daddy baked cookies, made a gingerbread house, watched movies and ate all sorts of yummy food!

That night, when Karoline went to bed and it was time for Santa to come, she wished that he would bring her new baby brother to her house so that she could finally meet him

When the morning came, Santa had brought Karoline so many gifts, but none of them had her new baby brother in them. Karoline was very sad. 

She asked her mommy “how much longer until my new baby brother is here? You said it would be right after Christmas.” Karoline’s mommy replied “don’t worry Karoline, it will be very soon.”

A couple of weeks went by and Karoline hadn’t even noticed because she had been busy playing with all of her new toys.
