Hello everyone! My name is Aidan the acorn. I am going to take you on my journey through my life cycle from acorn to oak tree. Let's go!

I was once a little acorn also known as a nut or an oak seed. The oak tree produced me.

When autumn came, the leaves changed colors and fell to the ground. I too grew bigger and changed from green to brown. I jumped and fell from the tree and landed on the ground.

Here I met Sandy the squirrel. She picked me up and buried me in the soil under the ground. Squirrels collect nuts and bury them in soil in preparation for winter.

Weeks went by underground and I felt myself changing and growing. A sprout pushed out the side of my shell and created roots. This process is called germination.

My roots extended down and I grew taller. I stretched my arms up and pushed through the soil. I began sprouting from the seed and formed a young plant called a seedling.
