Dedicated to Maverick, my inspiration, and my wild horse.

Hi I'm Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Ellie. I play soccer and people say I'm very smart. I also love horses but never get to ride them. I am eleven and live in Pennsylvania.

One day I was playing soccer in my backyard when suddenly there was cold blast of wind, "Brrr" said my brother Sammy. "Let's go inside." said my brother George. "Yeah." I said. "Race you!" said my brother Theo. Then we ran inside.

Just as I was reaching the door I thought I saw something in the distance, out of the corner of my eye. I turned around, and I saw it. I could hear my mom calling me for dinner, so I went inside. But what I saw...

I had seen a majestic amazing, beautiful wild horse. His fur was as sleek and shiny as newly polished steel, with burs stuck in it and a long and tangled mane and tail.

Later that night after dinner I was thinking about what had happened earlier. My brothers and I had showered after dinner and it was Friday, movie night. While I was getting My pajamas on I was thinking about something thinking, thinking.

Half an hour later, I heard mom calling from the living room, so I ran down because I knew that meant popcorn and dessert. But as I ran down I was thinking about something I had to ask my parents, something important.

Movie night was a big hit, at least with the younger kids. Mom made cupcakes and we watched despicable me 3, a family favorite.

After the movie I told my mom I wanted to talk to her. Once the boys were getting ready for bed I asked her if I could try riding a horse. She said yes! So we set up a lesson for next week at a place called Champion Ranch.
