Nature's Open Door
If your looking for a haven, a place of peace and rest.
Indiana is beckoning with nature at it's best.
The Wabash with it's Sycamores, along the grassy shore,
Is more then foliage, sand and wind it's nature's open door.
Where squirrels hurry down the lane and foxes race to hide.
Where fawns and furry cottontails scamper through the country side
You see the mighty Eagle, the Cardinal and Blue Jay
fluttering Butterflies, Bumble Bees and Grasshoppers in the hay.
Through the rolling farmlands, precious crops of golden seed,
harvested by those who nurture and care for those in need.
Where Children learn to laugh and play and live the golden rule.
Who love jump rope and catching frogs on their way to school.
Where families worship God and lend a helping hand.
Where sunsets paint a glorious scene on the golden sand.
Silence of The Night
I love to stop and listen
to the silence of the night,
the rhythmic sound of quiet
and the Eagles wings in flight.
To the song of the cricket,
and the evening gentle breeze
calming all of nature,
as it sings through the trees.
The movement of the ocean,
as the waves rush the shore,
bring peace and harmony,
and treasures from it's floor.
Silence of the night
a treasure to behold,
more precious by far,
than silver or gold,
pondering it's as if I can see
the beauty and wonder of all eternity.
Whisperings Of The Day
I thank my Father up above for his wonder and his love.
I marvel at the willowing trees
as they sway and shimmer in the breeze.
Delicate flowers that sport the dew
and all of nature made anew.
As I work through out the day
I Pray that I will never stray
from his teachings so sublime
as He leads me on through time
As the sun begins to fade
behind the majestic mountain glade
I ponder the whisperings of the day
and feel His love, as I kneel to pray.
The billowing shadows of the night
brings quiet slumber 'till mornings light
Celestial dreams, charity, hope and love
prepare me for my home above.
Pretty Little Blue Jay
Pretty little Blue Jay
out my window pane
chirping so merrily
do you have a name?
What is your world like
perched there in the tree,
are your friends the butterflies
and the honey bee?
Your nest so neat and tidy
nearly hidden from my view
Under an umbrella of leaves
in red, orange and golden hue.
Thank you for your song
it cheers me through the day.
It makes my load much lighter
as I work and as I play.
