The Somali Revoltion was the beginning of the civil war in Somalia that occurred in the late 1970s and early 1990s. The revolution started in 1986 when Siad Barre began attacking rebels groups.

In 1992 somalia was geting worse so the US military arrived in Somalia. Operation Restore Hope involved giving food packages to people and protect them . The following year, Somali rebels shot down two US helicopters, leading to a battle in which hundreds of Somali citizens were killed-(black hawk down)

in 1993 the factions and goverment make a peace agreement to have more peace and be in a better situation but this didnt change a lot because somalia still being a non safety place declared by the united nations because is the most corrupt country in the world and the USA still doing operations there.
