Hi my name is Kenya from your news. As you can see we're in a hurricane. It is pretty strong.

Hello my name is Jake. I'm from your news and you can see that I'm with Kenya. Lets see whats she has to say.

 As you can see in the background this is downtown. This location is at the  downtown Savannah. If you never knew about a hurricane these pages will tell you all about them. Hurricaneś are  very dangerous even if your near a place where one is coming. As you can also see it is leaving a mess behind and that is called debris.

If you never knew this but another word for a hurricane is tropical cyclone. There is a scale for a hurricane. The scale can go up to 5. There was a hurricane on the news it was called hurricane Zeta. Hurricane Zeta was at a level 2 it continued to get more power until it reached 110 miles per hour.

Did you know that a hurricane can go up to 600 miles?

how do hurricanes happen ?

It happens when the waters go up and down like in a video game. Then it starts a hurricane .

What pieces does a hurricane have ?

* well it has the eye not like ours. In the middle it has a shape of an eye .

* eye wall make the shape of the eye also is the piece around the eye .

* rain bands makes the storm bigger .

What you will need to prepare 

1. Aid kit.

2 . Gallons of water.

3. Flashlight if power goes out .

4. Battery operated radio.

5 Anything that you can hide under.

6 Something to stay dry.

                          Tornadoes 

        This is a chapter about tornados I hope you like it .

 A tornado is a column of air extending from an rainstorm. This is also like a hurricane they both have a scale.  If you had a storm and it was strong you will have a risk of a tornado. Tornadoes can be really strong for instance a tornado happened  in  Oklahoma .  

Tornadoes can leave debris like broken trees and even more.

how do they happen

* all the air starts TO  accumulate in the air.

 Tornadoes can happen on water. As you can see in this picture it is on water and it is starting to accumulate with the wind.

 How do you prepare for a tornado?

Water.

First aid kit.

Flashlight.

Something to hide under.

Important paper's .

Radio.

Extra batteries.

Gasoline in case of going out of town and another place to live.

                            Volcanoes 

  A volcano is like a rock it is hard. There are different kinds of volcanic layers like crater, cone, vent, ash, fumarole, side vent and lava. 

Let's first talk about cone. The volcanic cone known as stractocones are made of layers of your volcano. 

 Why do volcanoes erupt ?

1. When magma rises .

2.When earth's mantle melts it forms magma.

3.Act like your ice cream is frozen and its  thick that's like when magma is so thick that the gas bubbles cannot escape easily.

4. The magma rises up and the pressure is too much  and that might cause the volcano to go BOOM!!!

 Volcanoes can be underwater and on land. 

How do volcanoes create our water?  The magma goes to the surface and cools. Then the pressure is reduced. Then it creates a crystal. The water goes out of its cage then its emitted as vapor through our volcanoes . With this machine, water can be degassed to land.

Why when magma goes out of a volcano it is called lava?  Because it did not erupt yet. When a volcano erupts its called lava when the magma escapes the volcano.

How to prepare for a volcano.

Flashlight.

First aid kit.

Food.

Water.

Extra shoes.

Now its time for tsunami!

Tsunamis are waves that can be made by earthquakes, underwater volcanoes and landslides. Did you know that tsu is a word from Japan?  Tsu means harbor nami means wave. So if you put it together you get harbor wave .

There are two tectonic plates that slide by each other then it creates a ton of energy. Then when one slips the potential energy comes out..

 Then the waves ripple. It creates force then both waves radiate. If you've seen one it will be a 3 foot tall wave coming rapidly. Then the shore slows it down fast. Then all the regular waves come but the don't push it. They create a wave train..
