
Hello my name is John Chapman, but you can call me Johnny. I was born in 1774 in the state of Massachusetts.








Throughout my life I always loved apples. In fact, I planted my very first apple tree nursery in the Allegheny Valley of Pennsylvania in 1778.










From then on I was traveling from state to state planting apple trees. I walked for many miles.


Every night I always camped out under the stars. I always kept traveling once morning came.



I even made friends with some Native tribes throughout my journey.
I traveled all the way from Pennsylvania to Iowa and Illinois.








You may be wondering why I went through all of this just to plant trees. Back in my day it could be very difficult for people to find enough clean drinking water. Besides, the apples that I planted weren't good for eating anyways. But they were perfect for juicing and making ciders. I no longer wanted my friends and neighbors to pray that they could find enough fresh water for them and their families. I wanted to provide them with an alternative drinking source. Fresh Apple Juice.




So I guess you could say I did it to better my community, as well as many other communities across the country. Even as the yeats come and go, I am still know as the man who planted all the apple seeds which is why the call me....
