This is for my school teacher, and also to my little brother Ahan.
I worked hard by doing this and I agree that I will finish my progressive non fiction book.

My brother asked, " What is a fossil? Is it edible?"
I replied, " Fossils? Oh, you're in kindergarten. But, ok! Here goes. "
And I started my tale:

"Fossils are fascinating. We can learn a lot from fossils.
Scientists say that fossils are basically any preserved remains, impression, or trace of any once-living thing from a past age.
A fossil is created when an animal dies and its remainings fall to the ground." I explained. My little brother jumped up and down shouting "COOL!"
What is a fossil?

Permineralization
"There is a process about how animals turn into fossils. The process is called permineralization, or fossilization.
The animal falls down. " I paused, then continued, " Other creatures and insects eat most of the meat in the animal. Later, sediment ( mud and dirt and sand ) covers the animal. And while this happens, for millions of years, new layers of mud, dirt, volcanic ash covers the animal. Billions and
trillions of years later, the powders, dirt and mud all turn into rock.
Now, some of this layered rocks turn into mountains. The sun, wind and rain exposes the mountain, and little by little, the fossils seem to appear in front of the mountain. Most parts are lost, but lucky paleontologists ( scientists that studies fossils ) will find them.

I DIE like this?!
Fossils are found
"The first fossil was found in 1822. Mary Ann Mantell and her husband were walking through a trail, when Ann discovered fossilized bones on the path.
Since it was shaped like an iguana, they decided to name it ' Iguanodon '.
After this big event, more and more people found fossils. One person was named Mary Anning. "
"Hey, who is Mary Anning?"

Mary ANning
" Mary Anning? Should I tell you the story?"
"Yes please! "
I took a deep breath and started saying," Mary Anning was a famous English fossil hunter. She lived from 1799 - 1847. It all started when Mary and her little brother were playing on the seaside when suddenly Mary discovered a fossil on one of the rocks.

An hour later, I saw my brother digging in the dirt. He found a bone and was holding it. I exclaimed, " A DINOSAUR fossil! You want to know a little more about the fossil extinction? " He replied, " Yes please! "

Wow, what is that?
