My road to trip to the West (Printer was not working)

Hello, my name is Isabel Louis. My family members are Brad ( Father ), Shea ( Mother ), Maddie ( Sister ), and Aidan ( Brother ).

Me and my family are Homesteaders. We have made enough money as to where we should have enough to make it to our destination with the horse and carriage and a small boat ride across the Missouri River
Me and my family are moving to the West. We are heading from Chicago Illinois, to Burlington Colorado. We are going there because It is hot in summer and cooler In winter.

We are moving because we want to promote westward expansion. Also the government is giving free land for anyone wiling to stay ( $10 fee for papers).
Some of the challenges that we will have to deal with are:
- Very hot weather ( If we go in summer )
- Very cold weather ( If we go in winter )
- Native American tribes ( That are left )
- Lots of walking
- Nothing to block wind ( Such as trees )
- Getting over the Missouri river ( We hope to catch a boat that can cross and take our horse and small carriage with us )

We decided to stop on the Missouri river and get a ride with a passing boat ( It cost us money though ). But before we left to cross we stopped for a bit to gather water for the trip ahead.
On our way there we ran into the Kansa tribe in Kansas. They did not try to harm us, because we did not try to harm them. We simply went on our own ways. But you could tell they where not happy we where on there land.
After we had crossed we then went on out way. We had to go a little out of out way but we stopped in Dodge City In Kansas to take a small break before continuing on our journey again.

The newly built transcontinental Railroads did not effect me and my family on the journey. We did not see it on our journey at all,In fact. If we where to settle near a train then we could get supply's needed although that meant living in harder conditions, because of the Rockies.
