Once upon a time there lived a 

monkey named Mickey.  

Mickey lived with his friends on a 

tiny island in the South China Sea 

called Momo Island. 

One Saturday morning, Mickey 

was eating a delicious banana. His 

friend, Paddy the Pineapple, came 

to visit.

Paddy was hungry. 'Would you like to 

eat a banana?' asked Mickey. 

'It's very kind of you but I feel sick 

every time I eat bananas. I would like 

a hot dog,' replied Paddy.  

'There's a nice fast food shop along 

the beach. It sells excellent hot dogs. 

I can take you there!' said Mickey. 

'That's a good idea!' said Paddy.

So off they went. 

When they were walking along the 

beach, they saw a tiny object shining 

in the sunlight. 

'What's that?', asked Paddy. 

Mickey and Paddy walked towards the 

end of the beach to find the shiny 

object. 

When they got there, they found a 

beautiful golden lamp!

Mickey and Paddy wondered where 

the lamp had come from.

They didn't know how it got there 

but they thought that they should 

take it to the police station.

The moment Mickey touched the lamp, 

it began to shake and spin.   Suddenly 

there was a big BOOM and smoke was 

everywhere.

'I am the genie of this lamp,' 

shouted a voice. 'I can give you 

three wishes. What would you 

like?'

Three wishes... Three wishes... It 

was so wonderful. Mickey and Paddy 

had only come to the beach to buy a 

hot dog, but now...

Now they could have anything they 

wanted! 

Both Mickey and Paddy thought for a 

long time about the things they might 

want. And thought… and thought…

Until… they began to feel hungry again. 

And all they could think of was…

  ...their favourite things!
