It was the week before the first day of school! Miss. Jewels was cleaning up her bookshelf, getting ready for the new school year, when her two teacher friends came in.

Miss. Jewels's Third Grade Class

"Ah, hello Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Barron!" she said, as she greeted them with the biggest smile on her face. "We just heard that you have Todd Fletcher in your class this year!" said Mr. Barron. "Miss. Jewels, good luck..." said Mrs. Thompson.

"Miss. Jewels, we both taught Todd before. Mr. Barron for first grade, and myself for second. Todd has very bad ADHD. We both did everything we could think of to help him, but he is a complete nuisance in the classroom!" said Mrs. Thompson.

After hearing everything her friends had to say, Miss. Jewels became very worried. She knew Todd had ADHD, but she didn't know how bad it was. Miss. Jewels was so scared! How would she be able to help Todd? Would she even be able to?

Even though she was scared, she remembered that she took an oath as a teacher to do everything she can for her students. So after she finished cleaning up her classroom, she rushed home to do as much research as possible!

Miss. Jewels spent the next several days learning everything she could about ADHD. She called Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher to talk about their son. She asked Mr. Barron and Mrs. Thompson more about how he is in the classroom. She read dozens of books and articles, so she knew exactly what to do.

Tip #1: How to Deal with the Wiggles
Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher said that Todd can't stay still. He always has the wiggles and is running around like a chicken on the loose! How can Miss. Jewels help Todd?
Everyone has the wiggles sometimes! What's a fun way to get those wiggles out? A dance break! Ask any student who wants to dance to come up to the front of the room, and wave those wiggles goodbye!
