Southwest of the Pacific ocean
Encompasses many seas
including the Java Sea

enforce a strong direct rule on the indonesians
The Dutch East India Company, backed by their government, take over production ofsugar
indigo
coffee
and tea
They crushed Rebellions
And gained a highly favorable balance of trade
Making us very anti-Dutch!
The Dutch Continued taking money fromAdi's people
I'm rich! Yay!
I'm Dr. Soetomo
Because of this a nationalist movement calledNoble Conduct was started by this guy to oust
the Dutch!
Unfortunately, he couldn'tbeat the Dutch communists...
Or the Japanese that occupied during WWII
Finally 1945 Came...
August 17 they gained independence
