But the question is how?

Once, there was a farm with a large hen house situated on a hill range. It was a large place taken care by an old farmer, Thomas, also accompanied by his son. There was a corn field besides the hen house. They also had a tractor which they used to transport the crops.
There were a lot of hens in the hen house. One of them was Mary. She had laid 3 eggs. She used to sit on them for a long period of time and waited for them to hatch. After many days, they finally hatched. From the eggs came very small and cute chicks. She named them Lilly, Milly and Tilly.

Thomas gave them considerable freedom to roam around his farm and have fun. So, they all played the whole day in the farm with their mother.
The chicks used to roll on the grass, jump over each other, chase each other and run here and there. They tried to snatch food from each other but Mary stopped them. They also tried to fly by flapping their wings but weren't able to.
They used to come back at the hen house by evening as Mary had told them that it was scary at night and they shouldn't roam here and there alone.
One day, an eagle saw the three chicks playing in the open. It came down and snatched Milly and Tilly. Lilly stood there in shock and was unable to think what to do.
"Help me!!! Please somebody help me!!!" cried Tilly, held by one of the eagle's fearsome talons.
"Save us!!! I don't want to die!!!" screeched Milly in vain, as they had already crossed the farm and were high in air.
The first thing that came in Lilly's mind was to tell about this to her mother. So she ran back to the hen house as fast as she could, where her mother was.

She told Mary everything about the incident.
"Where did the eagle take Milly and Tilly?" asked Mary.
"It flew across the right side of the hen house." came the reply from Lilly.
"So it flew towards the East Forest. I must go there. You stay here while I am gone, okay?" said Mary
"But I also want to go there."
"You have never been to a forest before. It could be dangerous. Besides, I don't want to lose my last chick."
"I will be fine mother. I could also help you to locate the eagle as I have seen it."
"Okay, but we must go right away before its too late."said Mary, and they went towards the East Forest.
