For everyone
A mermaid and a hobbit fall in love. A Lord of the Rings love story.

Ria was so upset. She swam away as fast as her fin could take her. She found herself in a little cave far away from those boys who kept asking her. She sighed. She wanted to fall in love but not with those guys, because they only cared about looks and not the heart. As she swam home, Ria thought, "Will I ever fall in love with someone?" as she entered her house. Her mom was cooking. ''What's wrong?'' asked her mother. ''Those boys again,'' said Ria. The next day it was rainy and super stormy out. It was dangerous for mermaids to come out of there home. Ria sighed as she looked out of her window. She hated this weather because she never could go out of the house, so she just stared off into the blue sea, her green eyes looking around the sand and water.
Far off in the Shire, Frodo was in the Green Dragon Inn with his best pals Sam, Merry and Pippin. Merry and Pippin were dancing on the table singing a song. Pippin finished the song by yelling ''Come to the Green Dragon!'' and Frodo laughed because the two cousins were so funny. Sam was staring at his crush Rosie Cotton. Frodo smirked at Sam- ''Sam, you should really ask her out. You might not see it but she likes you back!'' said Frodo. ''No Mr. Frodo, Rosie will not like me.'' said Sam with a sad look on his face. ''Oh, she will!'' said Frodo. He pushed Sam over to Rosie. Sam flushed redder than Merry's red apples. Sam looked at Frodo- ''Go and get her you lovebird!'' whispered Frodo to Sam. Sam talked to Rosie.
The day was ending so Sam, Frodo, Merry and Pippin all walked home together. Frodo made it home. He gazed out the window looking at the stars before bed. ''I wonder if I will ever love," said Frodo with a sigh. "Maybe I will or maybe I won't." The next day it was raining. Frodo ate his second breakfast while looking out the window. Frodo's uncle Bilbo grunted, "What horrible weather! I was planning on going on a stroll through the Shire this morning.'' Frodo replied, ''I think we can figure something out uncle.'' ''I hope so! I wish this rain would end,'' said Bilbo as he looked out the window with Frodo. Frodo sighed. ''Yeah, I hope so too.'' said Frodo.
Meanwhile in the sea, Ria sneaked out of the house. She wanted to explore and the storm was not that bad now. She found herself close to her city. Then all a sudden she got caught in a strong current. She tried to swim out of it but ended up hitting her head on some rocks and was knocked out. The last thought in her head was What is gonna happen now?
Back at the Shire the storm had passed, and Frodo was super curios of what the storm has knocked over or picked up. He looked around with his friends Sam, Merry and Pippin. ''Look what I found!'' Said Merry. He held up a bird's nest. ''Wow!'' Said Pippin.
Frodo walked near the Brandywine river with his pals. "What's that?" Said Pippin as he pointed to the shore of the river. "Is that a girl?" asked Sam. "It is!" said Frodo. Frodo ran towards the river and gasped. Sam looked at Frodo, then he followed his gaze. That was no Hobbit. It was a mermaid. She looked hurt because she was knocked out. Merry and Pippin came and looked at the strange girl. Frodo felt his heart flutter. He walked gently to the mermaid. "Let's help her," he said to the others. "We will take her to my house and help her until she is well," said Frodo. The friends worked together to carry the mermaid to Frodo's house. They made it to the house. Frodo thought it would be a good idea to give her water because she was a mermaid.
They set her down and helped heal her cuts. Frodo thought she was the most beautiful person he had ever met. Her reddish brown hair was as curly as his and her tail as pretty as the stars. ''You fancy her do you Mr. Frodo?'' said Sam. Frodo flushed red. ''W-what? No!'' said Frodo, trying to hide the fact that he liked her. Sam gave him a look. ''Okay, Okay you win,'' said Frodo. ''I do fancy her,'' whispered Frodo to Sam. ''But please don't tell her!'' said Frodo. ''Your secret is safe with me Mr. Frodo,'' said Sam. After a few minutes She woke up and looked around terrified of where she was. ''Hi,'' said Frodo. She turned her head to him, her hair covering half of her face. ''Who are you?'' she asked. ''Frodo Baggins and
this is Samwise Gamgee. We mean you no harm,'' said Frodo. ''What is your name?'' asked Sam. ''My name is Ria, can you please tell me were I am, Frodo?'' Frodo felt butterflies in his stomach. ''You're in the Shire, Ria.'' said Frodo. Ria gasped. ''I am so far from home,'' she whispered. Ria looked up at Frodo. Aww he looks so cute, she thought. ''I think it is possible I can turn my fin into legs,'' said Ria. Frodo tilted his head. ''How?'' asked Sam. ''Well, my father gave me this necklace and it has the power of making my fin into legs and I have never been anywhere but my boring city,'' said Ria gloomily. ''What's wrong with your city?'' asked Frodo. ''These annoying boys are always following me around and asking me out even though I say no.''
Frodo felt pity on Ria. ''That sounds terrible Ria,'' said Frodo looking at her with pity in his eyes. ''The spell only works for around a month,'' said Ria. ''We have a guest room in here if you want to stay here for a while,'' said Frodo. ''I will use the spell.'' Ria took off the necklace and opened it. Then she spoke in the langue of the mermaids and her tail turned into legs. The spell also gave her pants as bottoms. She tried to balance but stumbled so Frodo helped her up. She smiled at him sheepishly. ''Sorry, I've never had legs before,'' said Ria. Frodo helped her walk around his house so she could get used to her new legs. Soon, she was able to go outside.
''See you later Mr. Frodo, I have to get home!'' ''Oh! and it was nice meeting you Miss Ria!'' said Sam. Bilbo came back to the house after his walk around the Shire. "Who is this young beautiful lady?" Asked Bilbo. "Her name is Ria. She was a mermaid but she did some sort of magic to make her fin into legs!" said Frodo. Bilbo's eyes looked at Ria. "What is it like in the ocean?'' asked Bilbo. "It's pretty cool. There are a lot of sea animals!'' Ria said. ''Dinner is ready!'' shouted Frodo from the kitchen. Bilbo and I walked in the kitchen. There was a ton of food on the table. Ria loved the smell. ''It smells good." Ria said. "Back in the sea all we ate was seafood." Frodo smiled. "You will love this then," he said.
Ria sat down next to Frodo which caused Frodo to blush. Ria served herself and when she put a bite of food in her mouth her eyes widened. "Frodo this is really good, I have never had anything I like this!" said Ria. Frodo smiled and flushed red. Ria did too. Bilbo looked at the two smiling knowing what was going on. After dinner Frodo showed Ria to her room. "Here is your room," said Frodo. Before Ria could close the door she gave Frodo a hug. "Thank you Frodo for your help." Frodo froze and the hugged Ria back, the blush growing in his face. "Good night Frodo." said Ria as she closed the door. Frodo walked out of the hallway to the living room. "You two are cute," said Bilbo. Frodo blushed redder than ever.
''Uncle Bilbo I need some advice on how to love," said Frodo. Bilbo smiled. "How about you confess your love to her?" said Bilbo. "That sounds really hard. I think she does not like me," said Frodo. "Does not like you! She loves you, I saw her blush at the dinner table," said Bilbo. "I will sleep on it. Goodnight Bilbo." Frodo walked passed Ria's room and heard her talk in her sleep. "No, I'd rather ride the sea horse." Ria said. Frodo giggled. "Your so cute," He whispered. Frodo walked to his room and fell asleep. Ria woke up to knocking on the door. "Can you get the door Frodo?" shouted Bilbo. She walked out of her room. "Sam! It's good to see you again!" said Frodo. "Hello Sam," said Ria. "Hello Mr. Frodo and Miss Ria!" Sam said.
Sam came in. Ria went into her room and got dressed and brushed out her hair. She came out of her room. "Can we go explore? I have never seen the Shire!'' Frodo smiled at me. "You did not even have breakfast yet!'' said Frodo. Then Ria's stomach growled. Sam laughed. "I guess your right," said Ria. Frodo chuckled. After they had breakfast they walked around the Shire until Frodo and Ria were knocked on to the ground. "Merry! Pippin!'' exclaimed Frodo. Ria looked up at the Hobbit that knocked her over. He had a scarf, a pointy nose and red hair. "Get off them!'' said Sam. He got the Hobbit off of her. They kept going on their walk. "My name is Pippin," said the one that knocked Ria over. "Hello, Pippin."
''Aren't you that mermaid that washed up on the shores of the Brandywine river?'' asked Merry. "Yeah," said Ria. They kept going until the sun went down then they went back to Frodo's Hobbit hole. They had been invited to someone's birthday. "Miss Ria, here is a dress that my sister does not use, you should use it for the party," said Sam. Ria went into the room and tried on the dress. She walked out into the living room with her dress on. "Well what do you guys think?" she asked everyone. "You look so pretty," said Frodo. Ria blushed. Th-thank you she said while blushing. We walked to the party. Ria sat down at a table. "Care to dance?" said Frodo. Ria took his hand. "Why most certainly." He took Ria to the dance floor.
Soft music began to play slowly. Ria felt her heart pound in her chest like thunder. "Ria? I have something to tell you," said Frodo in a soft voice. Ria looked at him. Her green eyes met his blue ones. "Yes, Frodo." Ria said in a soft voice. "When I first laid my eyes on you I fell in love with you." Ria looked up at Frodo, a sparkle in her eyes. "I felt the same way Frodo." Then before they could talk again, they kissed in the middle of the dance floor. Ria felt like she was home- not back in the sea- but this was home with Frodo and her. Frodo wrapped his arms around Ria's waist and hugged her. After the party Ria and Frodo made it back to the house. "Well, looks like we have two love-birds in the house," said Bilbo.
Frodo rolled his eyes. Ria giggled. "Goodnight Frodo," whispered Ria. "Goodnight Ria." Frodo pecked Ria on the cheek and walked off. The end of the month was near and sooner or later Ria would turn back into a mermaid. ''I will miss you when you turn back into a mermaid,'' he said as they cuddled near the fireplace on that rainy day. ''I will ask my father if I can remain with legs,'' said Ria. Frodo pulled out a book. ''Do you want to read with me?'' he asked. Ria smiled and noded. Frodo read the first page while Ria read the next page. Frodo smiled down at Ria as she read. ''I want to sing you a song.'' Ria looked up at him. ''Ok,'' she said.
Frodo began to sing:
"You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest, like the mountains in spring-time like a walk in the rain, like a storm in the desert like a sleepy blue ocean. You fill up my senses, come fill me again. Come, let me love you. Let me give my life to you. Let me drown in your laughter. Let me die in your arms. Let me lay down beside you. Let me always be with you. Come let me love you, come love me again."
(This song is on YouTube its called Annie's song by John Denver)
Ria listened to Frodo's beautiful voice. She began to sing with him. Frodo sang with her and they came to the end of the song. Bilbo clapped his hands from the kitchen. "Bravo!" he shouted. Frodo and Ria both blushed a deep red. "I love you Ria," said Frodo in a soft voice. "I love you too Frodo," said Ria putting her head on his shoulder. Frodo began to sing again. "Sunshine, on my shoulders makes me happy. Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry. Sunshine on the water looks so lovey, sunshine almost always makes me high. If I had a tale that I could tell you. I'd tell a tale that's sure to make you smile. If I had a wish that I could wish for you, I'd make a wish for sunshine all the while."
(sunshine on my shoulders by John Denver)
Frodo sang until Ria fell asleep on his shoulder. Frodo looked down at Ria. "I love you, my little mermaid," he said in whisper. Bilbo came in the room saying something about the weather. He looked at Frodo and smiled. Frodo put a finger to his lips for Bilbo to be quiet. "She's asleep," said Frodo. Bilbo nodded and left the living room. Frodo sighed and looked at the fire. He picked up his book and read a little bit. Ria woke up all snug in the blanket Frodo and her were using. "Sleep well?" asked Frodo. Ria looked up at him. "You have beautiful eyes,"
said Frodo. Ria smiled. "Thank you." You have a wonderful voice," said Ria. Frodo smiled and pulled out a new book about the sea. "This book is about the sea but the only thing it does not have is you." Ria smiled and looked down at the book. The title was "All about the sea." It had a picture of a dolphin on it. "That's my favorite animal! Let's read it!" she said. Frodo smiled. "Okay, let's read it." They both sat down again and popped open the book. "Aw look at this dolphin! It is jumping around playfully!" said Ria pointing at the picture. "What is your favorite sea animal, Frodo?" "I like seals, they are funny," said Frodo.
"This book has almost everything in it but mermaids." said Ria. "Maybe we can make a new page all about mermaids," said Frodo. Ria looked up at him and smiled. "Let's do that," said Ria. They walked in Bilbo's study, picked up one paper and began to write. ''Finished!'' said Frodo. Frodo and Ria both glued it in the book. "It's late already!?" said Frodo. "I am tired anyway," said Ria. She gave Frodo a kiss and went off to bed. The next day was the day that she was to turn back into a mermaid. Ria woke up and got dressed in her pants and a shirt. She walked out of the room. "Good morning Ria!" said Frodo. Frodo knew she was gonna turn back into a mermaid this day but not until the evening time.
"Sam, Merry and Pippin will be here soon!" said Frodo. Ria walked in the kitchen were Frodo was. She hugged him. "I don't want to go back Frodo," Ria said in a sad voice. "I will miss you if your father does not allow it." said Frodo. Then we heard three knocks on the door. Frodo and Ria walked to the door and opened it. "Hello Ria and Frodo!" said Merry happily. The three Hobbits walked in Bilbo's Hobbit hole. "Are you and Frodo dating?" asked Pippin with a smirk on his face. "Yeah..." Said Ria. "Awww you two are super cute to together." said Merry and Pippin at the same time. That day, they went on a walk around the Shire. Ria and Frodo held hands during the whole walk.
