Typical Day for an Infant

Nick wakes up in his crib and sees his mother. He follows his mothers eyes as she walks toward him, and "coos" as he is picked up (CDC, n.d.).

1
It's time for breakfast. Nick's mother gives him mashed bananas and avocado. While being fed, Nick tries to reach for the bowl in his mother's hand which is out of reach (CDC, n.d.).

2
After breakfast, nick's mother gives him blocks and a bucket to play with. Nick puts the blocks inside the bucket and then takes them out (CDC, n.d.).

3
Nick is ready for a diaper change. While he is being changed, his mom says his name and talks to him, and Nick responds to his name by making eye contact and babbling (CDC, n.d.).

4
It is time for Nick to take a nap. When his mother tries to place him in his crib, Nick shakes his head "no" and points to the bedroom door (CDC, n.d.).

5
After Nick wakes up, his mother feeds him lunch. His mother sings songs to him while he eats, and Nick babbles in excitement while trying to imititate her sounds (Berk, 2013).
