Many many years ago, a royal family lived in the Sete Cidades village. 

Há muitos e muitos anos, vivia no vale das Sete Cidades uma família real.

The princess delicate and kind, spent her days walking around the green fields of the village, trying to escape the cold and dark walls of the kingdom.

A princesa delicada e gentil, passava os dias a caminhar pelos campos verdes, tentando escapar aos muros frios e escuros do reino.

On one of these walks, fate caused her to meet a humble young shepherd, who carefully guarded his flock. From there on, a friendship was born. 

Numa dessas caminhadas, o destino levou-a a conhecer um humilde jovem pastor, que guardava cuidadosamente o seu rebanho. A partir daí nasceu uma amizade.

After several meetings, the two young couple fell in love, forgetting the social differences that separated them. 

Depois de vários encontros, o jovem casal apaixonou-se e esqueceram-se das diferenças sociais que os separavam. 

This love spread to the king’s ears, who wanted to see his daughter married to a prince, from the neighboring kingdom. 

Esse amor chegou aos ouvidos do rei, que queria ver a sua filha casada com um príncipe do reino vizinho.

This relationship was strictly prohibited. But the young couple couldn’t let themselves be defeated and met in secret. 

Este relacionamento era estritamente proibido, mas o casal não se deixou derrotar e continuaram a se encontrar em segredo.
