Jack and Jill are twins split at birth.

Jack goes with his stern dad, and Jill goes with her caring mom.

Jill is held daily and her stinky diaper is changed multiple times a day. Jill is happy.

Jill trusts her mom and knows she will be there to help her.! (Trust vs. Mistrust)

Jack is not held nor is his stinky diaper changed. Jack is in a constant state of discomfort.

Jack is sad because he does not trust his dad, nor does he trust any other adult in his life. (Trust vs. Mistrust)

Jack and Jill are now toddlers and it is time for potty training! They are both quick to learn how to use the potty, but Jill is rewarded for potty training, while Jack is not.

Jill is proud of her accomplishments, while jack feels inadequate and embarrassed. (Autonomy vs Shame/doubt)

Jack and Jill somehow end up in the same preschool class! They do not realize they are siblings, but they become quick friends.

Jack is on a trampoline, and he is pressuring Jill to get on it and do a flip. Jill wants to but knows her teacher would be mad so she restrains herself. Jack calls her a “chicken,” and then later gets scolded by the teacher for doing flips.

Jack begins to feel guilty for jumping on the trampoline and asking jill to do flips with him. (Initiative vs. Guilt)

Later on, in grade school, Jill is at the top of the class, while Jack falls behind. Every Friday they take a spelling quiz, and Jack always wonders how much better Jill did than him.
Jill is a confident teenager, while Jack feels dumb because he compares himself to his classmates, and his dad scolds jack for his grades. (Industry vs. Inferiority)

High school comes, and Jill does cheer and is valedictorian. Meanwhile, Jack has dyed his hair a different color each year of high school and been in multiple friend groups. At the moment, he is hanging out with the musicians.
Jack does not know where he fits in high school, whereas Jill has a clear idea and a solid friend group. (Identity vs. Confusion)

While not as close as when they are younger, Jack and Jill still joke around and one day in history class, they plan a trip to Brazil after high school.

As Jack and Jill graduate high school, their parents reveal to them that they are twins. They are shocked and confused.
