Once upon a time, there were two seahorses
named Carrie and Cassie, and they were best
friends. One day, Carrie and Cassie decided
that they wanted to play hide-and-go-seek so
Carrie, the blue seahorse, began to find a
hiding place from Cassie, the red seahorse.
"one, two, three, four five! Ready or not, here
I come!" Cassie yelled.

Cassie searched high and low, and all along
the sea floor for Carrie, but she was no where
to be found! Suddenly Polly the puffer fish
came up to Cassie and asked her what she was
doing.
Cassie responded "Carrie and I are playing
hide and seek but I can't find her anywhere!
can you help me find her?"
Enthusiastically, Polly responded that she
would, and began to look with Cassie.

After searching for Carrie, Polly finally found
her.
"Finally!" Carrie exclaimed. "I've been waiting
here for a really long time!"
"I'm sorry." Polly responded. "It took Cassie
and I a very long time to find you because you
were camouflaged into that rock that you were
hiding behind!"
Polly explained that being camouflaged means
that you blend into your surroundings so
others can't see you.

Polly Explained that camouflage is different
from mimicry because mimicry is used to look
like another organism to trick others into
thinking you're something that you're really
not.
Polly said "mimicry and camouflage help
organisms survive natural selection or survival
of the fittest. Natural selection is when the
organism most fit to survive in the
environment lives and reproduces!
