Since Marty arrived as the new dog in the
house, he and Cera have become good friends.
Sometimes, though, they get in a bit of
trouble.
Like the day when Cera got lost.
Cera and Marty love chasing the rabbits that
visit the backyard, but they know they're not
supposed to leave home.
Cera had been quietly watching the biggest,
the fattest, the cutest rabbit she'd ever seen.
Suddenly, Cera took off running right toward
the rabbit. The rabbit was quick, though, and
made it to the fence and squeezed through,
just in time.
But someone had left the gate slightly
unlatched, and as the rabbit squeezed
through, the gate opened.
Cera was thrilled. Despite Marty warning her
not to leave the yard, she darted out in search
of that wonderful rabbit.
Cera chased the rabbit around the pond.
Through the neighborhood.
Into the park.
And then downtown.
By the time she realized the rabbit was gone,
it was almost dark.
And home was far, far away.
And She howled and cried, and then she
howled and cried some more.
