The old mansion stood tall and wide with it’s broken windows, and faded shingles. The house had been sold for quite the bargain to the Moonstone family. Ocean Moonstone and her parents had bought the house. She was a small 3rd grader with blond hair and brown eyes. It was her first time in California. She had moved there because her father had found an amazing job! However, even though she had super cool things now she still missed living in Michigan.

Ocean missed her old house in Riverside community. She missed her school and friends. And most of all she missed Michigan. It would never be the same.
Right now she sat on their couch which was being lifted by her father. Her mother brought paint buckets and brushes into the house.
Even though the house was cheap didn’t mean that would be all they would spend. They had to renovate the house and fix it up so it would be suitable to live in.

Mr. Moonstone heaved the couch onto the creaky floor.
Ocean peered at the hugeness of the house and felt herself getting heaved up off the couch. Hugging her father she continued to stare at the marvelous sight.
“Come on Ocean, let's show you your room!” her mother exclaimed wiping the pastell markings off her face. Ocean nodded and let her parents drag her to her room.
As they entered the room Ocean saw a soft pink color of her room and a white bed with a little china doll sitting on top. “The Campbells must have also had a little girl,” Ocean thought. The Campbells were the people who owned this house from the start in the 1800’s.

Ocean came out of the bathroom dressed up in her long pink pj’s and in a tight pony while her parents cooked dinner. She inhaled the savory smell of burgers and licked her lips.
That was when she heard it- a tiny and somber moan like a little girl’s, it filled up the room.
Curious, Ocean followed where the voice was coming from.
She tiptoed through her room, scoured through her parents room, and explored the living room but saw no explanation to the ominous voice.
Then all of a sudden, it stopped abruptly.

Surprised but hungry Ocean trudged on to the kitchen to see the burgers perfectly cooked and sat on the table. Drool started to drip down Ocean’s mouth.
Her mom came up to Ocean and set down the burgers. Ocean picked up the burger and a plate and started to munch down on the burger.
“Ocean did the water work upstairs ok? If it didn’t i’ll call a plumber tomorrow,” Ocean’s father asked. Ocean mumbled food still in her mouth “mhm it wid it wooked good, "Ocean’s father chuckled and then went on to pick up his burger.

Halfway through her food Ocean picked up some fries and blasted them with ketchup. Her mother got up and said “Ocean hurry up with your food ok, you are starting your first day of school at Burberry academy and I don’t want you to be late so get to bed after you finish.”
Ocean’s eyes went wide. She almost choked. She just remembered that she would be starting 3rd grade in a new school! She didn’t say anything while she put away the dishes and went upstairs. The thought of being a new kid stuck in her mind the whole time.

As she cuddled into bed she only said good night and twisted and turned trying to find the perfect spot to sleep on. But she didn’t sleep good because butterflies stayed in her stomach the whole time. ...
BEEP BEEP! Ocean woke with a startle. She looked up to see what was making the annoying beeping noise. She checked the alarm clock but did not hear it coming from there. It came from a distance place and so she jumped out of bed and still sleepy she slumped outside her room.

The hallway was very dark and chilly, she wasn’t scared. She had seen many scary movies for her age and knew that it was all fake. She tiptoed across the creaky floorboards and heard that the noise was getting louder and closer. She appeared at the lounge. The noise had been at its loudest now and curious and very annoyed Ocean searched the lounge.
Under chairs, pillows, couches. There was only one place left. Behind the ottoman

Ocean slowly crept behind the ottoman, and at first didn’t see anything but then flaky white fog swirled around and began to form a shape of a girl. Ocean was mesmerized. She was glued to the weird sensation

The transformation didn’t last long for in front of Ocean there was a young pale white girl that had the substance of air. She had big black eyebags under her, and black eyes, and dark lips that matched with everything else.
Ocean finally came to her senses and then saw the weird sight. Her lungs would not find themselves to scream. So she stood there almost frozen.
