StoryJumper is committed to user privacy. If you are a resident who lives in a country that is part of the GDPR and are a natural person, please review the following information regarding your GDPR rights.

Educational Accounts

Our Role

When a user participates in an educational account, StoryJumper serves as a Processor and your Educational Account administrator is the Controller.

Data Collected & Processed

We will collect and process personal information as outlined in our Educational Account Agreement, Educational Account Privacy Statement and Data Processing Addendum.

Data Transfers

All personal data processed by StoryJumper is processed in the US and pursuant to our Data Processing Addendum.

Data Subject Rights

Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests must be directed to the Controller. StoryJumper, as Processor, will comply with requests from the Controller in exercising a DSR.

Independent Accounts

Our Role

StoryJumper processes data at your direction for the purpose of helping you create and publish stories. Under the GDPR, we are Joint-Controllers with you.

Info Collected + Legal Basis + How We Use Info

StoryJumper only collects information as outlined in our Privacy Statement. Below is a summary of the information that we directly collect, the legal basis for processing and how we use the information. Information collected via cookies may be found in our Cookie Policy.

Data Processing Addendum

StoryJumper is wholly based in the US. When you use our story creation services, our Data Processing Addendum applies.

Retention

We retain collected data during the period of time that you are an active StoryJumper author and, after such time, as required by contract and/or legal obligations. You have the ability, at any time that you are an active StoryJumper author, to delete or add your stories.

Data Subject Rights

If you are covered by the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: You have a right to access the personal data that we collect and process about you. All of the data we collect can be reviewed in your account.
• Right to rectification: If you want to correct or revise any of the data we retain on you may do by accessing your account and the information contained within it.
• Right to be forgotten: You have a right to request the permanent deletion your data. However, please note that exercising this right will result in the deletion of any work you have created and is also governed by legal and/or contractual retention guidelines.
• Right to restrict processing: If you believe your personal data is inaccurate or collected unlawfully, you may request limited use of your personal data. Please note that, depending on the request, this may result in a suspension or discontinuation of certain services.
• Right of portability: We provide you with the ability to move any of your account data to a third party at any time.
• Right to object: The GDPR provides the absolute right for you to opt out of personalized (targeted) marketing content. StoryJumper does not serve third party ads on its website. We do, from time to time, communicate with you about your created content, provide product information that is relevant to your use of our services as well as special offers. You can control any marketing related communications from us at any time by opting out of any marketing outreach that you previously agreed to by choosing unsubscribe in the related email.
• Lodge a complaint. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with us and/or bring a claim before your data protection authority.

To exercise one of these rights, please submit a request to [email protected]. You must include your full name, username, and the specific right you wish to exercise. Per the GDPR, StoryJumper reserves the right to request any additional information necessary to verify that you are the rightful account holder.
