A plants life begins when it is planted by seed.

The seed then starts to develop roots underneath the ground and becomes a young plant! This process is called germination. 

The plant the starts to sprout and we can see leaves start to form. Can you believe this plant is helping us breathe already? It's true. Plants release oxygen from their leaves for us humans and animals to breathe.

As the plant sprouts it starts its seeding process and continues to grow and serve its purpose in the world.

The plant is now an adult. It has matured and can produce flowers, fruit or nuts. El Paso, TX grows many pecans. Plants take many shapes and sizes as adults and may produce fruit before becoming an adult. 

Around the world plants thrive with sunlight and water. Each plant is unique just as we are. Some live better in tropical areas and others reproduce easily in the desert like cactus for example.

When plants die, they leave seeds behind and more plants start their very own life cycle. It starts with the seed then germinates to create a new plant.
