Today is Saturday! We are going to Hammy's and Popi's Farm!
Rowan woke up today very excited because today he gets to go visit Hammy and Popi! Hammy is Rowan's grandma and Popi is Rowan's grandpa. Every Saturday, he goes to the farm for a fun family day. He spends the day with his sister Juno, and his cousins Mackenzee, Noah, Aubree, Jaxson, and Brynlee

Rowan's family had to drive through a big storm on the way to Hammy's and Popi's farm.
When everyone got to the farm, it was a mess! The storm damaged all of the animals' homes. Hammy needed help finding all of her animals and putting them back in their homes.

Hammy and Popi show Rowan and his cousins where all the animals are supposed to go. She gives Rowan a chart that shows how many of each animal Hammy has on the farm, and takes Juno inside to bake some cookies.

Rowan notices that Hammy made a lot of changes on the chart. She has notes explaining the changes. Rowan realizes it is up to him and his cousins to organize the chart and round up the animals!

Rowan looks at the chart Hammy gave him and decides the first thing to do is figure out how many animals Hammy really has.

5 less than 15 is 10 and 10 more makes 20, so there are 20 horses. 10 more than 20 is 30, so there are 30 chickens

5 less than 10 is 5, so there are 5 goats. 3 more than 5 is 8, so there are 8 ducks.

2 less than 5 is 3 and 7 more make 10, so there are 10 pigs.

5 less than 20 is 15, so there are 15 cows.

There were no changes to the donkeys and the unicorn so there are 2 donkeys and 1 unicorn
2 less than 4 is 2, so there are 2 turkeys.

After figuring out how many animals Hammy really has, Rowan and his cousins paired up and divided up the jobs.

We will work on the horses, chickens, and goats.
We will work on the ducks, pigs, and donkeys.
We will work on the cows, turkeys, and Hammy's magical unicorn!

Hammy had 15 horses. She sold 5 and there were 10 foals born. 15-5=10 10+10=20
Hammy has 20 horses
