Glossary
Seasons are each of the four different times of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter) marked by distinct weather patterns and length of daytime based on the Earth’s movement around the sun.
Spring is when trees and plants start to grow.
Summer is the hottest season of the year, even when the sun goes down the temperature stays warm.
Autumn or Fall is when leaves start changing colors to red, orange, and brown and starting falling off the trees.
Winter is the coldest season of the year, where we sometimes see snow!
Time Machine is a machine that can take you backward and forward in time.
Time is the ongoing sequence of events taking place.
Cold is the feeling you get when the season changes to fall and winter.
Hot is the feeling you get when the season changes to summer.
Warm is the feeling you get when the season changes to spring.
Once upon a time, there was a brother and sister named Jake and Kate. They loved to be outside!
They wanted to know why on some days it was SUPER HOT outside while on other days it was VERY COLD. So, they came up with a plan.
Jake and Kate decide to build a time machine to help them travel backwards and forwards in time. While traveling they would learn about the different seasons.
While Kate went to pack a picnic for their adventure, Jake made sure the time machine was full of gas. She packed enough food for four days, a day for each season. And off they went!
The first stop was in Spring. This is the season where flowers and trees are starting to bloom, the grass turns green, and it rains a BUNCH!
Jake and Kate loved Spring. It was so much fun for them to see all of the different colors. They knew it was spring because the flowers were blooming and the air was warmer. But they knew there were three more seasons, so they better hurry!
Jake and Kate's next stop was Summer! They knew it was summer because it was so hot! Summer means school is out and it's time for vacation! Jake and Kate never wanted to leave, but they had more seasons to explore!
Jake and Kate did not want to leave the beach! Summer was their favorite season. Kate sighed, "Come on Jake, let's leave and see what other seasons we can visit!"
