Ask your teacher clarifying questions before you get started on your task.


is for brainstorm.
Write all your ideas on your paper. Make sure your ideas follow the instructions.


is for create.
Use your materials to create your STEM project.





is for draw.
Draw your design before you create it. Show it to your teacher or your peers before you start building.



is for engineering.
An engineer designs, builds, experiments, improves, and maintains structures.




is for focus.
It is very important to focus on your task. Do not allow others to distract you and do not be a distraction. Focus on the task and the constraints.

is for guide.
Guide your group back to the project if they get off task. Guide them through the project by using everyone's strengths and ideas so no one feels left out.

is for hypothesis.
Use what you already know about the task to help you guess or explain parts of the task.


is for invent and improve. Inventions make life easier. Sometimes, we can improve an invention to make it easier to use, give it added features, make it lighter in weight, or more cost efficient.

is for justify. Be ready to justify why you made the choice to use a certain material or why you designed your structure that way.

is for keep data organized. Your project should be written in steps from beginning to end in case you need to improve a step.

is for launch your project. Put your project to the test when you think it's ready. Does it work? Could it work better?

is for math. Use your measuring tools such as a ruler or a volume cube to be precise.


is for notes. Take notes while your teacher explains the assignment and take notes as the group discusses the STEM assignment. Include group members names next to their ideas.

is for observe. Observe or watch the way your STEM project works. Is it falling to one side? Is it too weak? What can you do to improve it?

is for problem solve. Be a problem solver. Work with your group to figure out ways to solve the problem while keeping the constraints in mind.
