I dedicate this book to my Nana, who always told me this story when she came to babysit when I was younger.

There was a time when the King and Queen ruled over the land of Forella, which was in the country side of Italy. They only had one daughter and her name was Clarinda. She lived with her mom and dad who were the King and Queen in this beautiful enormous castle. There were over 40 rooms in the castle. Clarinda had a play room that was the size of a soccer field and had every toy imaginable in that play room. 

One day, the King and Queen were looking for Clarinda in the castle calling "Clarinda, Clarinda!" Because there were so many rooms, it took them a while to find her. Eventually, they found her sitting in the middle of the play room very sad and crying. "Oh my dear!" The parents ran to her. "Whats the matter? Why are you crying?"

"I'm so sad. I have all the toys in the world, but I don't have a friend to play with and to share all these beautiful toys."

The King and Queen left the playroom also feeling very very sad. After a long discussion, they came up with a plan! They ran back to the play room and said to Clarinda "We are going to have a fun game! We are going to take you out of the castle and pretend that we are not King, Queen and Princess". They took her hand and ran to a special room where all the dress up clothes were kept.

The King, Queen and Princess were in disguise and walked out of the castle dressed in their ordinary clothes. Nobody would ever believe that they were the King, Queen and Princess of Forella!

The King and Queen had a plan. They were taking her to a park quite far away from the castle.
