Many people are affected negatively by drugs that are given to them or found and misused.

Meet Dan! Dan is a person living a relatively normal life, aside from his smoking problems. Addicted to nicotine, Dan feels the need to smoke in order to get through his day.
Dan grabs a cigarette and lights it in order to quell his ever ongoing need for Nicotine. Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical that is usually seen in tobacco products.

Dan starts to smoke and Jack enters the room. But in doing so, Jack is receiving the second-hand effects of smoking.
It may not look like it right now, but smoking causes bad things to happen to the person doing it, as well as others around. The smoke said user exhales is still as potently unhealthy as when first brought into their body. This counts for other products similar to cigarettes, like vape, juuls, cigars, and many other tobacco products.

Now meet Ken here on the right, and Rayla here on the left! These two drink and consume alcohol regularly. However, there is a difference when it comes to their usage. Ken drinks because he likes to, and his body can keep up with it. Rayla however drinks because she feels that she needs it to get through even the start of her day correctly.

Rayla has only woken up recently, and yet she already feels the need to have a drink of alcohol. Whenever she doesn't have a drink to get alcohol into her systems, she feels frantic and anxious.

Running over to the fridge in her kitchen, Rayla snatches the first bottle of wine she can grab hold of and starts to drink. She gets drunk whenever she does this, and it's very unhealthy to her.

In taking in alcohol in such a way, Rayla is destroying her own immune system and stopping it from doing many things. She gets sick a lot more easily now, and she doesn't get hungry either. But not getting hungry in her case is a bad thing, since there are now ulcers in her stomach that damage her health as well.
