Fourth grade was quite an interesting year. At first I liked virtual learning but as the year went on I started to absolutely despise it (but I liked my teacher ;) ) ! In the beginning I liked it because I could ride my bike or scooter and play with my neighbor friend during recess. I also liked my Mom's lunches. Then my friends lunch time changed and we could not play anymore I had no friends to play with and It was getting worse every day I missed my friends I missed the playground I missed chorus I missed BOOM.

(I wanted to try out for BOOM but my mom forgot to sign me up so that did NOT help) I missed doing paper work seeing the teachers and eating lunch with my friends and for the first time ever I missed school. All I can do is hope it will be better next year.

Being in a virtual class has really changed the way I look at school. When I started virtual school it felt so weird sitting at my desk in my house rather than sitting at desk in my classroom. Some people think virtual school is better because you don't have to wear a uniform, you can lay in your bed, you don't have to wear a mask, etc. But personally I think in person school is way better. It was hard not meeting my teacher or my classmates until the end of the year. When i went to school for testing it felt so weird. I was actually sitting at a desk and my teacher was teaching in front of me!

But even though my fourth grade year has been interesting I still loved it. I also wanted to say thank you to my teacher Mrs. Kerr. She always makes jokes to make us smile when we were tired or sad. She is the best teacher ever. :) Those are my thoughts on my fourth grade virtual year. :)

Being in a virtual class really has changed my outlook on life. It was also really weird going to a school virtually for my first time, but I still was able to become friends with all of my classmates. Even though the pandemic was going on, it felt like I was really at school. But the best part was that I got to meet most of my classmates in person, and It felt so amazing. Although I was started our school later than others, I truly feel as a family member of the Kerr Crew!

Being a Virtual student was not that fun. You weren't able to talk with your class at lunch or talk during recess. You were only able to see them in a box on a screen, but when I came back to school at the end of the year for state testing, It was very new, exiting and scary because some of the people I had never met in person. After being with them in person, they already feel like my second family! I can't what to learn more about them all and get to know them next year in fifth grade! -Jada

Doing Virtual School, or online school was a challenge for me...It was so different and unusual to be doing everything at my house without someone right there next to me, for example, a teacher. Like When I needed help, it wasn't there...Most of all, When I really needed a friend beside me...Well, it wasn't there. I was stunned the first week after doing Virtual that we weren't going back to school anytime soon. Once I was out of third, I was really nervous about the whole completely virtual 4th grade year I would have. The work stressed me out, but I somehow made it through. (continued on next page)

I wouldn't of been able to manage through without my teacher Mrs. Kerr, and most of all my mom. I really got used to doing "Virtual", and a while later I was not used to the whole in-person thing, and was nervous to come back...Over all, it was a very different experience and it is so crazy that my 4th grade year was a pretty big part of history...and a year I would never forget.

If I'm going to be honest, doing virtual school really changed my outlook on school this year. I didn't like virtual at ALL. It was a huge challenge that I did not like. It put more stress on me when I did not have my teacher around me to ask any of my questions and all the work we had to do. It seemed like a lot of work, more than in class normally. But What really was helpful was me knowing my classmates and my teacher Mrs. Kerr for always wanting to be there for ME and our class. (continued on next page)

I know why I did virtual for my grandfather's safety and health so I would not have changed it.

My virtual experience was bad because everybody in my Learning Center was always too loud even if I had headphones on, it was good because I was at a whole other place where if I was doing a test, no one would copy mine or any thin like that. In physical school it was good because it was quiet and we got to go outside a couple times, it was bad because we had to wear one colored shirts with collars and that stuff. Virtual was good because we got to wear anything we wanted and it wasn't just ONE color. Overall, both of them had their ups and downs, but I am still happy even on a computer, I still get to to see my teacher and friends and I'm happy to hopefully meet new friends next year! -Chase

My experience as an online learner was I felt like I was learning faster and easier than physical school. I also liked virtual class because there is no dress code. In physical school, you would have to follow rules and in online class there are no rules. In a school where you get to see people in person ,you get to see people. In virtual class, I didn't like that we couldn't see our friends in a long time😰. This is my experience as an online learner! Mrs. Kerr is the best teacher and I was so happy that I finally got to see her in person! I missed her so much and the Kerr Crew.😃

This school year my experience as a virtual student was too hard for me, and I think being in real school is WAY better than being virtual. Also, one thing I like about virtual is that you don't have to be in a rush to get to School, and you can go to "School" in our pajama's, but there is some sad things about virtual. You cannot see your friends, you can't do as many active things and fun things than when you're at "school". So, my virtual year was pretty interesting and cool to see what it was like! I just cannot wait to go back to normal again and see my friends who I have not seen in a while, and I'm ready for masks to go away please... -Alexa
