This book is dedicated to children everywhere suffering from physical abuse.

Children need to know how to get help when they feel at risk. As such this book seeks to address the ways in which physical abuse can be identified, the people that children can look to for help and their right to be happy and cared for.

My name is Noah. Joe is my best friend.

I live with my mom and dad. Joe lives with his auntie May.

Joe is not always happy and he does not like to be around adults.

One day Joe and I were playing at school . I saw small bruises on his legs.

"What happened to your legs Joe?"

"Ummmm..... I can't tell you Noah. It is a secret."

"But you look hurt Joe. Remember what Teacher Lu taught us about good and bad secrets?

"Well... auntie May says I am a bad boy and hits me when I speak up. She told me never to tell anyone."

"That is a very bad secret Joe. That is called ah...ah...abuse. I think we should tell Teacher Lu. She can help.

"Ah..abuse? What's that?."

"Its when someone does bad things to you all the time".

"You too Joe. Its your right to be happy and taken care of".

"My mom told me that anyone who harms a child can go to jail. She says its my right to be happy and taken care of".

"I know, but it will be ok. Teacher Lu and the police will help to keep you safe".

"I'm scared Noah".

Joe and I went to our class to talk with Teacher Lu.

"I'm sorry that this is happening to you Joe but I'm happy that you told your friend and I".
