Chapter 1

Bellatrix, also known as Bella, and Sophia are not regular kids. They have no memory of their parents, and live in their house with just each other and Sophia´s pet king cobra Basil. Bella and Sophia are twins. They have long, straight, black hair; pale skin ; and sapphire blue eyes. They are both 12 years old. Bella is good at science and has good computer skills. She had always wanted a pet cat, but Sophia was worried that it might harm basil. Sophia was good at writing and ,like Bella, had good computer skills. She much treasured Basil. Basil was not a regular king cobra. She was 5 ft long, and she had a genuine sapphire on her forehead. No one knows how it ¨

got there. She had figured out how to use YouTube, and had learned many things off of it. Because Bella and Sophia had no parents, Basil had always helped them with math. She was currently learning algebra, and Basil was teaching Bella and Sophia about tenths and hundredths. Basil was intelligent, and very fast. She had her own room, and had learned how to open doors. The house that they lived in was strange, too. It looked normal from the outside : Brown, stone walls; two stories; balcony; decent size lawn with bluebonnets in the hedges  near the wall of the house. It also had a dark brown wooden door with a sapphire doorknob. The entryway looked normal. It had sapphire blue walls, a 

small box to store shoes, and a window with a genuine five inch by five inch sapphire on the white windowsill. Even the Sapphire looked normal. The Sapphire was not normal. The Sapphire was magic. Bella and Sophia had never had any parents, so the Sapphires took care of the house. This one in particular cleaned the entryway, dusted, and cleaned the shoes. There were other sapphires like it around the house. There were four in the kitchen (Two for cleaning, one for cooking, and one for writing recipes). Most of the sapphires were used for cleaning. Bella and Sophia were used to them. No one else knew about the sapphires, because they never did anything when people were watching. There were also 

two sapphires in the study that could answer questions, sort of like google. And that is where our story begins.

Chapter 2

It was a beautiful autumn afternoon. The sunlight poured in through the window. The window had a good view of the trees changing color. In the study, Bella and Sophia were working on their homework. They had just come home from their school, Rosa Parks middle school. They were working on an english assignment when a ringing sound came from downstairs. It was the doorbell. ¨Get the door Basil¨ Sophia called. Basil replied with a nod and a hiss. Basil could not talk. They heard her slither down the stairs. A few seconds later, they heard the door open. Basil slithered back up the stairs. She arrived in the room with a package in her tail. ¨A

package?¨ Bella asked. ¨but we got one just last week!¨ They got a package once a month containing money and a list of needed stuff for that month. They had no idea who the packages were from. The money was the only way they got food. They always bought everything on the list. It always came in handy at some point or another. But it only came once a month, and they didn't usually get any other packages, so they were surprised. Sophia walked over to Basil and took the box. Bella ran down to the kitchen, coming back with a sharp sapphire. She used the sapphire to cut open the small box. Inside there were two rings. They were silver and had a perfectly polished sapphire in the middle. They fit perfectly on their fingers. Then all of a sudden, Bellas closed english notebook

snapped open on her desk. There was a sticky note inside. The writing said these rings are the beginning of a great quest. Be brave. Be wise. - Kaitlyn and John P.S.  say hello to Aslan. ¨Who are Kaitlyn and John? And who is Aslan? ¨ Bella asked. Sophia replied ¨I have no idea. How did your english notebook open randomly, and how did that sticky note get here?¨ Bella replied ¨Do you think I know?¨ Bella got up and placed the rings on the windowsill. ¨We have to finish up that english assignment¨ Bella said. But right then the rings started glowing once Bella placed the sapphire on the windowsill with the rings. The light filled the room. When it died down, 

 there was a black cat standing there. ¨So we meet again¨ the black cat meowed.

Chapter 3

They then noticed he was talking to Basil. The black cat was about a foot long, not including his tail. He was eight inches tall at the shoulders. Oddly, he had a real, genuine sapphire on his forehead identical to Basil´s. Then the oddest thing of all happened. Basil spoke ¨Hello Aslan. I thought you were captured¨ The cat seemed to be Aslan. ¨I escaped¨ Aslan told Basil. Then Sophia spoke ¨I thought Basil couldn't talk. And who are you, Aslan¨ ¨I couldn't talk until now.¨ basil replied. ¨I lost the ability after being set free from the evil entity. Apparently, now that Aslan is here, I have inherited the ability again.  ¨ ¨

Aslan is an old friend of mine. He was still captured when I was set free. And now he has escaped. ¨ Basil then asked Aslan ¨How did you escape?¨ ¨I have no idea. Light filled the room and I arrived here. Where is here anyway?¨ Aslan replied Bella answered ¨Now that I can answer. This is our house, 308 55 East Street, Washington, Maryland. ¨ Aslan replied ¨Okay… but where is maryland?¨ Bella pulled out her map of the United States of America out of her binder. ¨Here ¨she said pointing to Maryland on the map. She then pulled out her world map. ¨Here ¨ she said pointing to the northeast US. ¨Okay, so were in the United States of America, which is in North America¨ Aslan replied ¨Just a question¨ Sophia asked ¨But what purpose

do the rings serve?¨ ¨I have no idea¨ Aslan replied. ¨But i'm hungry. Do you have any food?¨

Chapter 4

They had entered the kitchen. It had black cabinets with white quartz countertops. There were sapphire backsplash and silver grey walls. There was a window above the sink that had the four sapphires. (Two that clean, one that cooks, and one that writes recipes.) ¨I was wondering when this would come in useful.¨ Bella said, pulling out a box of cat food and two cat bowls. ¨I had no idea why we would need stuff for a cat. ¨ She filled up one bowl with cat food, and the other with water. She then pulled out a sharpie and wrote the word ASLAN on the bowls. Sophia went into the pantry and came back with a jar of peanut filled pretzels. When she put it on the

island and went to get two bowls, it jumped and fell over onto the side with the nutrition facts. Next to the nutrition facts was a sticky note. It said Head to the living room. Look on the bottom left shelf of the bookshelf. Your quest is starting. - Kaitlyn and John ¨Odd… ¨ Sophia exclaimed. ¨What is so exciting on the bottom left shelf on the bookshelf? How did this get here? How did the bag of peanut butter filled pretzels JUMP?¨ ¨Who knows¨ Basil said after making herself a bowl of raw chicken. ¨Let's head to the living room.¨ After everyone had finished their snacks, they all went to the living room. On the bookshelf there was a dark blue box with a label that said YOUR MISSION AND TIME TRAVEL PART ONE.

Bella raced to the study and came back with the sharp sapphire. In the box there was a sheet of paper that the title was INSTRUCTIONS. The sheet of paper looked like it was torn out of a composition notebook. There was also five books with the following titles: 

The sheet of paper had some websites that went with the book topics. ¨Why do we have resources that look like they would be useful in HISTORY CLASS?¨ Bella asked. Nobody had an answer. They then looked at the piece of paper. It said You must collect five keys hidden in time. They are

1. Queen Elizabeth's necklace

2. Ulysses S. Grant's gun

3. George Washington's quill

4. A native american square of fabric

5. King George's robe

Use this sheet of paper to help with the time travel. You will get more information once the keys are found. Don´t waste time. - Kaitlyn and John. ¨Time to learn how to time travel¨ Bella announced.

Chapter 5

Bella and Sophia read the instructions:

    Place the two rings next to each other. They should both be touching one sapphire

    Tell the rings the date you must head to

    Spin both rings two times saying who will come along with you

    You will arrive in that time, in the best place to do whatever you plan to do there

¨This does not seem that hard¨ Bella noticed ¨Wait! There is more on the back!¨ They flipped over the sheet. There was more writing on the back in the same blue ink:

Be aware - You will only stay in that time period for 9 days. Work quickly. You will leave after 9 hours, or when you decide to leave, whichever comes first. You will stay in the clothes that you were wearing when you spun the rings. Dress appropriately for the time period. Anything you are holding will come with you. The rings give any place you head to WIFI, even if in that time period WIFI was not invented yet. Keep in mind that King cobras were discovered in the 1850´s - Kaitlyn and John

¨Why do we care when king cobras are discovered? No offense, Basil¨ Bella asked. ¨Because.¨ Aslan replied ¨All the times we are heading to, except during the civil war, are before 1850. All those people will not know what basil is. ¨ 

Okay… so basil has to be hidden¨ Sophia added ¨Yesss¨ Basil hissed ¨I would advise researching the 1500´sss. We need to get Queen Elizabeth´ s necklace, remember?  ¨ ¨Of course we do!¨ Bella and Sophia said at the same time. Bellatrix, Sophia, and Aslan read the book in the blue box. They had figured out that Aslan could read. Basil was watching YouTube videos on the subject. She could not read. Basil was in the study, while everyone else was in Bella and Sophia's Bedroom. They had discovered that Bella´s earbuds did not fit basil. Snakes did not have ears. Bella and Sophia's bedroom had sapphire blue walls, light brown wood bunk beds, A white nightstand and dresser, and a reading nook. The door to their bedroom 

and the doors to the closet were light brown wood and had sapphire doorknobs. The reading nook had light brown bookshelves to match the bunk beds, and a rainbow polka dotted rug that matched the rainbow polka dotted bean bags. Sophia was on her unicorn bedspread on the upper bunk, while Bella and Aslan were on the zebra striped lower bunk. Once they finished reading, they went to their closet and pulled out two long dresses that looked like they might be worn by servants in the 1500s”Wow!” Bella exclaimed. “That supply list names everything.” And they walked over to the window. “March 15th, 1528” They said and spun the rings.

Chapter 6

They arrived outside a forest. It was near a large castle. The castle had gray stone walls and many turrets. Each turret had a gray top and an open window. There was a large wooden gate and a moat. They couldn’t judge how deep the moat was. Basil slithered off into the forest so she wouldn't be seen. Aslan hid behind a turret. The drawbridge slowly went down with many creaks. Sophia thought it didn’t look very safe to cross over. A knight asked them “Who is't art thee and what art thee doing h're?” “We,” Sophia replied “are the new servants for the queen..” “You may enter.” They walked into the 

palace. It had gray stone walls, but you could hardly tell because it had so many portraits and paintings. Many of them looked like the pictures of Queen Elizabeth from Queen Elizabeth: A life. There was a large chandelier hanging overhead. Still, the entryway was sort of dim. They silently crept through the halls. They went to the empty servants quarters to discuss the plan. ¨I´ll do it. ¨ Aslan replied ¨I´ll creep into her room while it is vacant and find a sapphire necklace. I´ll put it on and climb down the tower. I am very good at climbing and there are some bricks sticking out here and there. ̈ ̈Go and have a look around the castle,'' Sophia told Aslan. ¨Take my phone so you can tell me if you find anything. The rings

give this place WIFI. Report back to the quarters in a maximum of two hours. We may be there or we may not. Now, I need to figure out how cooking was done in the 16th century. ¨ Sophia, Bella, and Aslan exited the room. Aslan went one way and the twins went the other way. Aslan crept along in the shadows. He had used ink to cover up the sapphire on his forehead so he looked like a regular cat. After about an hour, he found his way to a staircase. He crept up the stairs, not knowing exactly where he was heading.

Chapter 7

Aslan arrived at the door. It had a strong, heavy metal bolt, but it was unlocked. It was slightly opened. Aslan pressed his ear up against the door. He heard no one. He crept inside. The room had a large four poster bed with pink covers and a pink canopy. There were pink velvet curtains over the open window. There was also a dresser with a mirror on top. The bed had satin pillows. The room was very large. The dresser was wood, and the mirror frame was solid gold and studded with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. The wood was a nice chestnut color. There was a box on top of the dresser. 

A jewelry box. That must be where Queen Elizabeth keeps her necklaces. Aslan thought. He opened it. There was a gentle creek. Inside were fabulous gems. They were on dozens of pairs of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and more formal attire that Aslan didn't recognize. He searched through the necklaces. None had sapphires on them. Disappointed, Aslan leapt off the nightstand. How could I be searching for a non-existent necklace? He then heard the door creek open…

Chapter 8

It took Bella and Sophia a while to find the kitchens. They walked into the kitchen. Nobody really paid attention to them. They quickly learned that the only difference was that there were no appliances. They were put to work cooking a freshly slaughtered deer over a fire. They had to keep turning it so it would cook. Blood fell off the deer and into the flames. When she got the chance, Bella snuck into the ¨Bathroom¨. It was really just a small room with a lock and a chamber pot. And it smelled. The stench was probably coming from the chamber pot. Bella pulled out her phone. 80% it read. She then checked her notifications. There were a few texts from  

Aslan. :

I found how to use a phone

I found Queen Elizabeth´s room

I found her jewelry box

No sapphire necklace

She then exited the smelly room and went back to cooking. They were about to head back to their quarters when a servant screamed.

Chapter 9

Aslan luckily ran under the bed before he was caught. A beautiful woman entered the room. She was wearing fine silks and very expensive jewelry. She went over to the dresser. ¨Is anything broken?!¨ she screamed. She was bending down onto the floor where Aslan had knocked off the jewelry box. From Aslan's point of view, and the fact that the woman wasn't screaming, he guessed that nothing was broken. She picked up the jewelry box and set it right up on the nightstand. ¨What is this?¨ she muttered. She held up three black hairs. Aslan's hair. The woman must have thought they were animal hairs,  

so she started looking around. When she didn't find anything, she stood up. Then Aslan recognized her. It was Queen Elizabeth. And she was wearing a sapphire necklace.

Chapter 10

¨Witchcraft!¨ a servant screamed. She had just come out of the bathroom holding Bella´s phone. The phone was on, and the home screen had a picture of Bella, Sophia, and Basil in the pool. That day Basil had taken the picture, and they had learned that Basil could swim. But because Bella and Sophia were in swimsuits and half submerged underwater, they didn't recognize her. By now, all the servants had seen the phone and the fact that the time was changing on the phone, so they saw that it was moving.  Then something bad happened. The phone beeped. Someone yelled ¨Tell queen Elizabeth!¨ when an 

escort of four guards came over, Bella remembered that in this time period, only very wealthy people learned how to read and write. That meant that the only people in this room, out of 100 servants, 4 guards, and Queen Elizabeth, only Bella, Sophia, and Queen Elizabeth could read the words ¨Enter password¨ Queen Elizabeth said ¨Guards capture the witch and its black cat, and kill them both. ¨ she held up the black hairs. Bella and Sophia thought Aslan was in danger. Then they heard a snap of a chain and saw a cat paw break the chain that was holding Queen Elizabeth's Sapphire necklace to her neck. Aslan grabbed the necklace and tried to run out the doors, but was blocked by guards. Aslan leaped onto 

one of their helmets and jumped across their heads until he got outside with both the twins' phones, and a sapphire necklace.

Chapter 11

But when Aslan got outside, he saw 5 guards had surrounded Basil. She was holding a mouse that she had caught hunting. She dropped the mouse, hissed, and flared up her hood. That is what king cobras do when threatened. One guard backed off, but 4 stayed. Then Basil swung her 5 foot long tail, knocking over the guards. She then slithered out of the forest to see Bella and Sophia running out of the castle. When they got into the forest together, all three of them vanished and arrived back at their house, 500 years later.

``That did not go as planned.¨ Bella said. But at least we got the sapphire necklace.¨ ¨I wasss found because I went hunting.¨ Basil hissed. ¨I got the necklace.¨ Aslan meowed. ¨Now we need to get the next key.¨ Sophia added. Then they saw Basil slither down the stairs. She then slithered back up again, holding the blue box. The next key is Ulysssses Sss. Grant´sss gun. . Basil hissed. Then Bella grabbed a stack of post-it notes and a box of pins. ¨We finally have a use for that bulletin board,'' Bella said. The group of four put up the following sticky notes:

Pink pin - Time Travel keys

Orange pin - Queen Elizabeth's necklace FOUND

Yellow pin - Ulysses S. Grant's Gun

Chapter 12

Green pin - George washington's Quill

Blue pin - A Native american square of fabric

Purple - One of king georges robes

They then added a pocket to the bulletin board to hold all the post-it notes from Kaitlyn and John. ¨You guysss can read the books about Ulysses S Sss. Grant and I´ll watch the YouTube Videos on the subject.  ¨ Basil hissed. Basil then grabbed her computer and slithered up the stairs towards the study. Everyone else grabbed the book about Ulysses S. Grant from the blue box and started reading. By the time everyone had finished reading, Basil had watched 10 YouTube videos. .Before we go, we need to see if Americans know about king cobras yet. ¨ Bella said .We know this is after 1850, but we don 't know if the

said .We know this is after 1850, but we don 't know if the the right clothes, Bella and Sophia turned the rings and said, ``May 18, 1863¨ If anyone had been looking through the window, they would have seen them vanish.

They arrived in a place with tents and a fire. It was an army camp. They saw that everyone was wearing blue, so it was probably a Union army camp. They got basil to hide in a small burrow made by some other snake. It was next to a river. Aslan decided to eavesdrop from the river. When Aslan got into the river, the ink that he used to cover the sapphire on his forehead washed off. No one noticed. He listened to what Ulysses S. Grant said to a Union soldier ¨If we win this battle, we will have the Mississippi river under Union control. It will split the confederacy in half. That will mean we will be able to take over the confederacy. We could win this war. It will mean the Union will be whole again, and African Americans will

Chapter 13

have equal rights and not be enslaved. I will write to Lincoln about this and how the battle goes. ¨ Then they saw Aslan. They had never seen a cat with a gem before. Ulysses S. Grant yelled ¨Get the cat! We don't want it to drown!¨ Two soldiers ran towards the river that Aslan now recognized as the Mississippi river. Aslan saw his reflection in the water and noticed that the ink covering the sapphire on his forehead had washed off. He then swam to the other side of the river and hissed at the soldiers on the opposite shore. In the snake den where Basil was, Basil had accidently scared off the actual owner of the snake den. She had slithered behind the tent thinking I can't just come back in time to hide. She slithered over to the next tent. She did not know which

one belonged to Ulysses S. Grant. They had signs, but basil could not read them. She saw that one tent was open. Inside, there was Ulysses S. Grant writing something. Basil guessed it was probably a letter. Then she heard a gunshot from behind her. When she turned around, she saw an army in grey uniforms coming over. It was the confederacy. The battle of Vicksburg had begun.

Chapter 14

Basil saw Ulysses S. Grant run out of the tent. When she slithered into the tent, she saw no gun. The only gun that belonged to Ulysses S. Grant at the time was in his hand. Basil knew the only way to get the gun was to go into the battle. She did not know if king cobras were bullet proof or not, but she had a plan. She found Bella and Sophia near the medicine tent, and she told them her plan plus what she had found. Sophia then sneaked into the tent with bullets and spare guns, and grabbed two guns. She figured out how to load them, and she loaded them. She then handed them to Bella, who then gave them to Basil. Basil slithered

over to Ulysses S. Grant. She dropped the two loaded guns in front of him, and grabbed the one out of his hand. Ulysses S. Grant was surprised. He then grabbed the guns in front of him and got back to the battle. She then met up with Bella, Sophia, and Aslan. In the next second, they vanished and arrived 1,000 miles and 155 years later

Chapter 15

When they arrived back home, Aslan went over to the bulletin board. He grabbed a red pen and wrote next to the sticky note that said Ulysses S. Grant's Gun. He wrote Found. Basil hissed ¨I didn't know we would go into one of the battles of the civil war. ¨ ¨We were helping some of the wounded and sick. We snuck over some modern medicine and tools. ¨ Bella said ¨The medicine and tools they had were horrible. ¨ Sophia added ¨We also cleaned the tools they did have. Did you know the doctors don't wash their tools or their hands? That is some of the reasons so many people died. We learned that in social studies.¨ Basil hissed ¨I got the gun. We now have two keys. The third key is George Washington's quill. ¨ Aslan  

meowed ¨The ink covering my sapphire washed off in the river. We now know that I have to be somewhere where my ink wont rub off/ wash off. No one should see my sapphire. It would arouse suspicion.¨¨I hid my sapphire by finding some scales a similar color to mine. There were a lot of shed scales in the snake den. ¨ Basil hissed. ¨You and Bella should wear the same type of clothes you wore for the last key, but you can't use the ones you're wearing because you got blood on them.  ¨ Sophia replied ¨We´ĺl put them in the washing machine. But we'll have to get the next key after school tomorrow because I figured out every one hour spent in a different time, one minute has passed here. We will have to wash the clothes, and while

they are in the washing machine, we can finish our

homework. There is no cat bed, so Aslan could sleep on Bella's bed or on the bean bags.  ¨ Bella put on the washing, and then they finished up the homework they had, an english assignment, and science benchmark review. The next day, after school, they found Aslan in the kitchen. Aslan was eating some of their cat food.”I was hungry!” Aslan meowed “Basil was able to open the bag.” Basil then hissed “He told me to!” Bella and Sophia went to the study, placed the homework on the table, and went over to the windowsill. Basil had grabbed the right clothes from the dryer. They put on appropriate clothes and spun the rings. “May 16 1776!”

Chapter 16

They arrived in what looked like another army camp. There were tents, but no fire at the moment. It was midday. Basil created a snake den by using some rocks and her tail to dig a hole. It did not work. She saw a small, 3ft deep slow moving steam, so she got in there. She made a small ditch in the bottom to hold her in one place. Aslan went behind a bush, and Bella and Sophia went into a tent. From where Aslan was, He could see George Washington go into a tent. He followed quietly. Then, he felt arms grab him. The next thing he knew, he was in a metal box with no way to see out. After about an hour the top of the box opened enough for Aslan to stick 

his head out. He could see that he was in an army camp, but all the soldiers were wearing red. Aslan saw he was in a british army camp. He could not get out of this metal box he hardly fit in and probably once held 1700s medical stuff. He was trapped. 

Meanwhile, basil had slithered out of the river and into the tent that George Washington had just left. She saw a quill, but it was on the desk that basil could not reach without being seen. She then slithered out to try and find either Bella or Sophia to get the quill. When she slithered behind a tent, she slithered right in front of an army soldier. There were two bad things. One, she had been seen. Two, she could now see a british army officer in front of her and a british army behind him. They were being attacked. There was a british invasion.Basil opened up her hood and hissed at the soldier. The soldier pointed a gun at her and shot. She slithered out of the 

Chapter 17

 way just in time. An army soldier had now noticed the lobsterbacks, another name for the british. ¨The regulars are coming!¨ the soldier yelled. The american army had now noticed the british, or the regulars. Basil saw one of them had a box with Aslan's head poking out of it. Basil saw Alsan meow something she could not hear. She slithered over, trying to get to Aslan without getting shot. And then she felt a bullet draw near, but it vanished a millimeter from her scales. Aslan must have done a spell to make me bulletproof Basil thought. She knew that Aslan could do some spells, but she had never known what spells. Both armies were now in a battle. She slithered at fast speeds and bit a british soldier. The british soldier now had 

blood coming from his leg. Basil then slithered over to Aslan and grabbed the top of the box with the bars, and pulled. It came off its hinges and Aslan was able to get out. ¨"I´ll go get the quill¨ "Aslan said. He started running through the group of soldiers, knocking over some redcoats. Basil noticed the british were retreating. The attack had failed. 

Chapter 18

Aslan dashed over to the tent he had seen George Washington go into earlier, dodging army soldiers. He looked inside. There was a desk in the middle. On the desk was a sheet of parchment, an inkpot and a quill. He dashed over to the desk, grabbed the quill in his mouth, and ran off

Basil was searching for Bella and Sophia. She looked behind some tents, but had no luck. She then saw Sophia near the river. She seemed to be looking for her. Then Bella emerged out of the forest. Basil then slithered over to the river. “Bella,” She hissed. “ Sophia. 

We just need to wait for Aslan to meet us at the large rock over there-” Basil motioned to a large rock near the outskirts of the forest. “Then we will go home. After that, only two more keys to go.” Then a soldier shouted “Cat!” Basil turned around and saw Aslan being chased by a group of soldiers, who seemed to be trying to get the quill back. “Over here!” Sophia called out to Aslan. I have the ring!” Aslan jumped over. “Why are you always getting yourself into trouble?” Basil asked Aslan as Bella spun the ring. Then, they arrived in Bella and Sophia's room.
 “I don’t know, but it’s sorta fun!”

Chapter 19

Aslan then said “Only two more keys to go! We need to get a Native American square of fabric. Let's get out the books.” They pulled out the native american books. A couple hours later, the twins and Aslan had finished reading, while basil had watched twenty youtube videos. Basil hissed to Bella and Sophia “How are you going to get fake or real animal skins to disguise yourself?” Aslan said “How about you use that A-zon thingy?” Bella replied“It’s called Amazon. The only problem is I have no idea how to get an account on it or get money on the computer.” Basil hissed “I think I know how to do that. I 

just need the box of money.” she slithered down the stars and came back with a box filled with money that they had gotten last month. She hissed “How much do we need to add to get the native american costumes?” Sophia said “Let's add one hundred dollars. We don’t know how expensive they will be.” Basil opened the computer and got onto the amazon home page. She clicked a few buttons, and typed a few things, until the screen had two buttons. One said Credit Card and the other said Bank. Basil pulled a one hundred dollar bill from the box and pushed her tail to the screen. The one hundred dollar bill turned into a one dollar bill and the screen said $100.01 added. Either click Add More or Save 

account. Basil hissed “Every time I do that spell it always adds one extra cent.” Sophia said “I didn’t know you could do magic! Why did you not tell us?” Basil hissed “I forgot to tell you. I can only do a few ssspellsss.” Bella then searched “American Indian Costume” and one of the search results looked realistic, and only cost twenty dollars. . Bella bought two and paid ten extra dollars for it to be delivered tomorrow. Aslan mowed “We’ll just have to wait until morning to go back in time.” Just then, the doorbell rang.

Chapter 20

Sophia went to check the door. When she opened it, there was an Amazon package. She picked it up and ran it upstairs to their bedroom. “When was the last time we ordered an Amazon package, other than 3 seconds ago?” Sophia asked. “Oh,” Aslan replied, “That was me. I did a little spell to make it come sooner. I’m-” Basil then interrupted “Impatient?”. “Exactly!” Aslan replied. Bella and Sophia then tried them on. They fit perfectly. “Umm...” Bella said, “I read that snakes, in Native American culture, represent the underworld.  I also read that they also represent death and evil. So, Basil, you 

might want to stay hidden.” “I hate Native Americansss' ' Basil hissed. “Sssnakesss do not represssent death and/or evil.” Aslan then added “Well, we have everything we need, so...” Aslan then jumped and spun the ring. “Have you ever heard of a plan?” Basil hiss-murmured. “Nope!” Aslan replied as they left the room.

Chapter 21

They arrived in the middle of a large, flat area. About 50 yards in front of them, they could see teepees. Teepees were Native American homes. They seemed to be on the great plains. Basil hissed “I’ll hide in the tall grass. I see some prairie dog burrows I can hide in.” Bella said “Me and Sophia will go into the village. We’ll look for fabric there.” Aslan said “What will I do?” Sophia said, “You will sneak into the village and try to find fabric.” Basil then slithered into a hole in the ground, and the twins plus Aslan went towards the village. When Aslan arrived there, he went behind a teepee. He decided to take a peek into the teepees to see if anyone was inside. No one was

inside. He went in. He looked around. There was no fabric except for buffalo skins, and those were too big for Aslan to carry. When Basil slithered into the hole, she found that she scared away a lot of prairie dogs. As she slithered through, she saw there was an opening at the top. When she looked through it, she saw it lead straight into a teepee. And this teepee had a piece of woven fabric on the loom. She was about to slither out and grab it when she heard someone yell “Wesa!”

Chapter 22

Basil had watched a YouTube video earlier about different Native American words, and had learned that ‘Wesa’ meant ‘Cat’. Come on, Basil thought, What trouble has Aslan gotten himself into now? She slithered back into her hole and slithered outside, after catching and eating a Prairie Dog. She saw Aslan had been surrounded by Native Americans. Then one shouted: “That cat stole my fabric!” Then the Native Americans started chasing Aslan. Really. Aslan can’t even stay out of trouble for a half hour. Though, Basil thought, we did tell him to steal some fabric. Basil then slithered over and

 hissed. The Native Americans then turned around. And they started chasing her. This was a bad idea Basil thought.

Chapter 23

“Inagu!” One of them said. Basil had no idea what Inagu ment. She was slithering at her fastest speed, but snakes were not the fastest of creatures. She noticed that one of the native americans had picked up Aslan, and another had gotten the fabric. She then saw there was a bow and arrow near her. She picked it up and pointed it at the native americans. She had no idea how to use it, but the native americans did not know that. They surrounded her, though none of them touched her. She saw that the one holding the fabric was near her. She stood on her tail as high as she could and spread out her hood. “Hissss!”

she said. The native americans backed up a bit. She slithered as fast as she could towards them. They parted away from her. She then heard Aslan meow loudly before he was put in a large, deep hole.
