Stephanie and Sophia are twins who share everything. They both loved playing outside with friends and spending time with their families. But one day, that all changed.

Stephanie woke up one day and decided that she didn't like the same things as her sister anymore. She liked to dress up, and her sister liked to go exploring. Her sister liked pets and animals, and she did not.
" Come on, girls, it's time to go to your scout's meeting." Their mom yelled.
" Oh, mom, I don't want to go there anymore. I'm not too fond of it. Why can't you take Sophia? She loves it." Stephanie said as she dragged herself to the car.
After their scout meeting, the girls headed to the ice cream shop. This was one of the things that they still enjoyed doing together.
" Hey Soph, I want to take a break from all the stuff that we do. I don't like nature, that's what you like. I want to do things I like for a change. Is that ok with you?" Stephanie said to her sister.
" It is ok Steph. I know you are always doing things I like, but I want you to be happy too. I'm not mad. We can still see each other at home." Sophia said.

Later that night, Stephanie went to talk to her mom. She explained how she felt.
"Even though we are twins, I don't want to dress alike, and I don't want my hair the same as my sister anymore. I want to be my own person. I'm tired of being referred to as Sophia's twin. I want my own room. Why do we have to share everything? I want to make new friends and be around other people with the same things I like." Her mom was understanding and agreed to let the girls choose how they look.

Over the next few weeks, Sophia and Stephanie did different things. Sophia went to the park almost every day to play with her new friends. Although she missed her sister, she wanted to give her space.

After much consideration, Stephanie finally got her own room. She was thrilled.

Sophia came home to an empty room. She began to feel sad and wanted to know why Stephanie didn't want to be near her anymore.

Stephanie felt very happy about being able to do the things that she liked with others. Even when the girls went to school, she ignored Sophia. She wanted to enjoy her freedom and felt like her sister was suffocating her. This made Sophia feel discouraged.

The school day dragged on; at least, that's how Sophia felt. She missed her best friend and asked Stephanie to have lunch with her. Stephanie agreed, and they sat together. Some of their friends joined too.

After lunch, Stephanie and some of her friends went to the library to read. She told Sophia that she would see her later. The girls giggled and walked away. Sophia didn't like being left out and wondered if this was how Stephanie always felt when they were together.
