Hello! My name is Alberto, and I am an axolotl. I was born in a lake located in Mexico in the year 1074. I don't go out to play that much because there are plenty of things that would like to have me for lunch.  I get really bored, so what I usually do for entertainment is collect rocks and find food.

One day, I decided that I needed new rocks for my collection, so I headed off into new territory.  I was surprised when I found this huge cave.  I felt afraid and excited at the same time.  I saw something sparkling in the distance, I could not believe my luck! I found a cave, full with crystals!  What a find! I should be heading  back home, my family will be worried about me.  

I grabbed as many crystals as I could and rushed back home. "Where have you been?" my mother asked, clearly worried. "Collecting rocks." I replied.   "Can I see them?" she asked.  She was excited to see what I found, and asked if she could display them in our home.  "Tomorrow you will have another exciting day, Alberto!" my mother said to me.  

 I could not wait to see what she meant by that.  Was I going on another adventure?  Was my Dad going to take me to a new cave?  I could not wait!It was bed time, I dreamed of being rich. Snoooore! Wake up!  Wake up! my mother said excitedly. "Aaah!" I screamed. "Oh, it's just you." I said relived. "Happy  Birthday!" my mother said.

"What, today's my birthday?" I asked. I had totally forgotten about it!  "Yes!" my mother said. Then I went downstairs. There was a room full of presents just for me. "Happy birthday!" my family shouted. I smiled, I was super excited for the day ahead.
