Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily. 

She lived with her parents and her little brother Max, in the town of Skylok.

Lily loved Halloween, especially making Jack-o-lanterns and putting them on her porch.

Every Halloween, Lily made two Jack-o-lanterns with her little brother, Max. While she carved the pumpkins to make the Jack-o-lanterns, Max would help in making the Halloween decorations, such as, paper spiders and mummies. 

Her decorations are better every year and she is always delighted with them. 

This year, after Lily made the Jack-o-lanterns, she went out trick-or-treating, with Max.

She was enjoying trick-or-treating with Max. She just loved dressing up in her Halloween costume and collecting treats in her special Halloween bag. 

"What a lovely Halloween it is! It is so much fun!", exclaimed Lily.

"Yes, I am loving it," said Max.

They both collected lots of treats and were excited to go back home and show it to their parents.

!?!?!

When Lily and Max came home, they ran inside to show their treats to their parents. Lily changed into her regular clothes and went back outside to play, but she saw something unusual.

One of the Jack-o-lanterns was not where she had kept  it. It was in the garden.

"Hmmm.. why is my Jack-o-lantern here?", she thought.

She took it and moved it back on the porch, but just then something very strange happened. 

IT JUMPED OFF AND STARTED MOVING!!!! 

"Ahhhh! my Jack-o-lantern is alive!", Lily screamed.

Hearing her scream, her mother rushed outside and looked at the Jack-o-lantern in horror. 

"What is happening?" she asked. 

"The... the.. Jack-o-lantern is a...a..alive!", Lily screamed. 

"What? How? We must stop it!", her mother shouted.

"How do we stop it?", asked Lily.

"Let's first try catching it!", Lily's mother said. 

"O...Okay!", exclaimed Lily.

So they chased the Jack-o-lantern all around the garden. 

Lily and her mother were very fast, but the Jack-o-lantern was faster.

They were getting very exhausted and thought they wouldn't be able to catch it.

Just then, the Jack-o-lantern tripped on a rock and the candle fell out. 

Lily sprinted forward and quickly grabbed the candle!
