At this age, counting is helping children understand quantity. Once she can match the numbers 1-10 with the item they understanding the meaning of counting.
Correctly names at least four colors
As circle time ended the children got prepared to go outside. Once outside I asked the children playing on the bridge to name the colors that they saw as they crossed the bridge. Color recognition and identification aids in the cognitive relationship between visual signals and language.

Better understand the concept of time
Zoey knows that once they come inside from playtime they prepare for writing/ storytime. Learning to tell time teaches them foundational knowledge to read a clock. Zoey then integrate what they learn with their own hands-on experiences to form relationships in understanding and knowledge; yet because time isn't hands-on, we have to teach them.
