Proclamation of 1763
1763
After the french and indian war, Britain passed the
proclamation of 1763 to prevent colonists from
going over the Appalachian mountains to the west
and angering the native Americans.
If I were a colonist, I would have been very angry
at Britain because we just shed blood to get this
land, and now we can't have it.

Sugar Act
1764
This put taxes on sugar, indigo, and certain wines.
If i were a colonist, this would have made me angry
because i would normally use those everyday, and
having to pay more would mean less money to save.

Quartering Act
1765
The quartering act allowed soldiers to go into a colonists
home, and use all of their things while living there.
If I were a colonist, this would have made me angry
because it was an invasion on my privacy

The stamp act
1765
This act put taxes on all printed papers like
newspaper, pamphlets, e.t.c.
If I were a colonist I might have been angry
because a lot of things could have been printed
back then, and taxes would not have made me
happy.

Townshend acts
1767
These were taxes that were sneakily added to
imports, hoping no one would find them. but
eventually, the colonists found them and were so
angry, they boycotted further taxed items.
If i were a colonist, i would have boycotted too,
because adding a tax is one thing, but without
telling someone is outrageous.

The Boston Massacre
1770
Several colonists were throwing snowballs at british
soldiers, and in the confusion a soldier gave the order
to shoot the colonists, killing several.
If i were a colonist i would have been shocked,
because they just opened fire on several colonists!
