Wednesday October 13 2021: 

Dear Diary,

The bandits have been running around for the past week. My Mom said that it was too dangerous in Italy and that we were moving to the United States. I really don’t want to go.I only took one class on English last semester.  I should have taken two. Maybe three.

I banditi sono stati in giro per la scorsa settimana. Mia mamma diceva che in Italia era troppo pericoloso e che ci stavamo trasferendo negli Stati Uniti. Non voglio davvero andare. Meno male che ho seguito un corso per imparare l'inglese lo scorso semestre.

Thursday October 14 2021: 

We're leaving today. I just finished packing. Now we're driving to the airport. My mom had an Italian friend who immigrated to America when she was a kid. Why am I saying this? Because they stayed in touch, she offered for us to live with her and her daughter.

Partiamo oggi. Ho appena finito di fare le valigie. Ora stiamo guidando verso l'aeroporto. Mia madre aveva un'amica italiana immigrata in America quando era piccola. Perché dico questo? Poiché sono rimasti in contatto, ci ha offerto di vivere con lei e sua figlia.
