I was just like you once. Nervous to start my first day of school. I would hide behind my mother’s leg. 

All my worries went away the moment I met my Kindergarten teacher. She had a big smile and welcomed me with open arms. I was no longer scared.

Through the years, I was inspired to become a teacher because of the kindness she showed me on my very first day. I want to be just like her, so I promise to welcome you all with a big smile and open arms. 

I want to create a safe learning environment in my classroom that you will enjoy coming to every day. 

In order to do so, I need your help. All you need to do is to treat your classmates the way you would like to be treated. This means before you do something, think to yourself, "Would I like it if someone else did this to me?"

I am always here to listen to your problems too. If you have an issue, I hope you are safe enough to share it with me.

I am worried I will not make any friends. 

I expect my students to come to school with their thinking caps and listening ears on, ready to learn. 

I also expect my students to be active learners by participating during class. 

We will learn to read and write and to add and subtract. Science and history as well...
