Once upon a time there was
a little red haired boy named
Phinny.

Phinny knew that a special day
was coming. His mom was busy
decorating inside the house.
Phinny was excited and thrilled.
His mom was
letting him
help her.

His mom arranged a long string of
leaves in front of the bar in the
kitchen. The leaves were orange,
yellow, red, and brown.

Phinny made a
Jack-o-lantern out
of orange and
black construction
paper and glued the
Jack-O-Lantern
together.

Mom said, "We are
getting ready for
HALLOWEEN."

Outside the house, Phinny’s dad was
busy decorating. Phinny helped his
dad with the decorations. He put
these gray boards that had
writing on them in the
ground. Daddy said,
“These are Grave Stones.”

They carved a face on a big, orange,
round pumpkin and put it in the
garden. Daddy said, "This is a
Jack-O-Lantern.
They put a light
inside the pumpkin
for light at night.

They put up flickering lights and
colorful lanterns that looked like
spiders along the driveway and
sidewalk. They even put up a
Frankenstein monster.

They placed big, black pots
called cauldrons around the yard.
These cauldrons were filled with
spiders, skulls, chains.

Mommy made a special outfit for
Phinny. She explained that they would
all dress up for a special party in their
neighborhood.

Phinny's mom made a special wand. She
put two lightning bolts that were covered
in glitter. She put a special stick in the
center that glows in the dark.

She made a special cape
that had sparkling blue
and silver stars and
lightning bolts that glowed
in the dark. He had a
special pointed hat that
had golden stars.

On the morning of Halloween,
Mom gave Phinn a special
Halloween t-shirt that was
gray with a Mickey Mouse
wearing a skeleton costume.
Mom made sure that everybody had
special Halloween
socks to wear.
