Once in a faraway village...

there was a royal family. And they were a very jolly family. There was a younger sister named Article. She was three years old. There was an older sister named Adjective. She was eight. 

And of course, there was Queen and King. The Queen's name was Verb (also known as Mommy, Adjective's Mom, Article's Mom, Queen Verb, or Queen). The King's name was Noun (also known as Daddy, Adjective's Dad, Article's Dad, King Noun or King). 

All together they had a special power for grammar. They all represented some kind of word!

Article's power was words that say "The Noun is coming!" in words like the, a, and an. 

Adjective describes the noun. She owns words like red, stinky, blue, and all the in between. 

The Queen owned actions, and the King owned the most important: the person, place or thing. 

They all worked together to make sentences in a special room called "The Magic Room" and in the room lay four magic unicorns - one for each. There were two rainbow unicorns for the King and Queen, a dark blue unicorn for Adjective, and a light blue unicorn for Article. The unicorns helped build their powers. The unicorns helped them every day.

Now let's have a tour of their castle. There was, of course The Magic Room, a throne room, a royal kitchen, 100 royal bedrooms (97 for visitors), and a royal ballroom. They all lived a very happy life. But then...their life was about to get even happier.
