Today I am going to the Winter Olympics. It is the opening ceremonies with fireworks. And all of the athletes are representing their countries and holding a flag. This is a time when sports takes a center stage! The stadium is full of people

from around the world. It is a parade of nations.

Today we visited the snowboarding competition.

The racing was intense and so fast. 

Snowboarding is the sport or activity of travelling down snowy slopes using a snowboard.

How would you describe snowboarding?

It is a Winter sport that involves descending a slope that is covered with snow while standing on a board attached to a riders feet with boots set onto a mounted binding.

Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is a Winter sport played on ice. Curling refers to the rotational spin of the curling stone. A sport played in the Olympics and for fun.

Next we went to watch the curling. Sweeping is the action of moving

a broom or brush back and forth in the path of a moving stone.

A skip is the player who determines the strategy and it directs 

plays for the team. 

Tomorrow we are going to watch the men's hockey. Hockey is a game played on the ice between two teams. It consists of 6 players per side. The objective is to score a goal by shooting a puck into the oppositions goal.

Some terms used in hockey include the blue line divides the rink into three zones. Which has the boards the walls and plexiglass that surround the rink. A slap shot is a hard shot in which players take a big swing before hitting the puck with the blade of the stick. First was the men's Olympic hockey. And next week the  women's hockey will start. So many exciting hockey games to watch.     Hopefully, we win a gold medal!!! 

Cross country skiing is an interesting Olympic sport.

You need good arm strength to push with the poles.

BOBSLEIGH: bobsledding is called bobsleighing which is a sport of sliding down an ice - covered natural or an artificial incline. Bobsleigh is a racing sledge for two or more people, it has a steering mechanism enabling the driver to direct it down a steeply banked ice - covered run.
