For Chinese New Year, my friend Yanjun wanted to fly home to her family.

Unfortunately, the corona restrictions in the country were changed and she could not take the flight. She finished her master's degree in economics and had one year to apply for a job to gain work experience in Germany, but many companies imposed a hiring freeze due to the uncertain economic situation during the pandemic. Therefore, she wanted to give up, gave away her room and just wanted to go home.

Now she was standing there, the morning before the flight, with nowhere to go. She called me, in tears.

Fortunately, I had enough space for her to stay with us. I calmed her down and we thought about how I could help her.
